we traveled from cairo to sharm, the bus service is fine but the journey itself is pretty painful with so many check posts due to security. Every now and then the bus was stopped to check ids and passports, even the luggage. That was hell of a pain, thank god our return flight was by air.

I travelled last night from Cairo to Sharm. The trip was smooth, overall. Just, everyone sad it would be 6 hours, but it ended up being 11 hours.

In terms of this being a bus from one place to another, it does what it says on the box - we went from Luxor to Hurghada in fewer than 5 hours. It left on time and transported us without incident, with one stop along the way (at a place with filthy bathrooms). It is probably also the cheapest way to do this trip, at 135EGP per person.

However, a few things need to be improved - bus seats are more cramped than the most budget of budget airlines. If the person in front of you chooses to recline - good luck! You will be wedged in place with no chance of escape. Also, the back of the seats are full of old chewing gum.

The worst part however, was the man responsible for labelling and loading the luggage onto the bus outside the Luxor office. He deliberately ignored us even though we were standing at the front of the queue. Eventually he told us angrily "10 pounds, 10 pounds" pointing at the bags. Thinking this was some unheard-of charge for luggage, we enquired at the office, where we were told there is actually no charge for luggage, but we could tip the man if we wanted to. We were disgusted at this man's exploitation of customers, never mind his cheek in stating how much he would like to be tipped by each person. With about 40 or 50 people on the bus, 10 pounds per bag is a nice little sum for him for about 10 minutes' work. The fact that the Luxor office is aware that their employees are doing this but do nothing about it is also disgraceful.

The bus was safe, reasonably efficient and reasonably clean. You really can't beat the price. Main complaints are that the seats are close together so if you are tall, you will feel cramped. The driver also played awful, whiny Eqyptian music rather loudly through the bus speakers throughout most of the trip. I was extremely grateful that I had remembered my headphones.

One final complaint was that the driver threw all the little bits of paper on the ground as he tagged our bags...but, sadly, this kind of lack of respect for the environment seems to be commonplace in Egypt.

Bad buses, bad service. Toilet cost 1usd (only for white tourists, locals for free) I'm pretty sure, drivers and company has share of this. Cheaters.
9 hours from Cairo to Sharm. Driver like to smoke and take his friends to the bus. So shame!
