It was life time experience for all of us staying on the boat for full 4 days. The arrangement made by Memphis Tours was very good. Our guide Alaa Elsawy was excellent. He was very good in English & maintained lot of patience though our kids at times were demanding. We enjoyed the trip thoroughly. Don't forget to visit Nubian Village by boat. It is a treat for Nature Lovers. The cruise ship"Alyssa" was was well maintained & the crews were very friendly & supportive. They managed Indian Food specially for us.
The Nile Cruise is worth visiting.

This was a great day trip to Cairo/Giza with out 5 and 7 year old. We were met at our resort in Hurghada by Khaled, and were taken to the airport where we took a small plane to Cairo.

In Cairo we were met at the airport by our rep from Memphis Tours (can't remember his name). He was holding a sign with our name, and was very friendly. He showed us to the van we would be in for the day and introduced us to our driver, who's name I also can't remember. We drove through Cairo on the way to Giza. As we were crossing the Nile, we mentioned something about a picture, so our driver pulled over and we hopped out for a picture on the bridge. We were not expecting that, but what great service! Stopping traffic to snap a couple of pictures!

We drove on until we neared the Pyramids. We stopped to pick up our guide for the day Ahmed Farahat. It was at that time we also met our body gurad for the day, Omar. We were told that it's company policy to send a guard when there are children on the tour. I have no idea if that is true or not.

We drove up to the entrance to the Pyramids, and our guide told us that since we had Omar, we could drive in to the Pyramids, and all the way to the scenic viewing area. I guess Omar was an off duty police officer or something. Either way, he was great with the kids! We saw the Pyramids, the Sphinx, took lots of pictures, then headed off to our next stop, The Papyrus "Museum", then to the "bazaar". Having been on tours like this before, we knew these are just places to stop and get you to spend money. No big deal. Part of the experience. There was another stop, but we skipped it to get to lunch because the kids were hungry.

Lunch was at an OK restaurant on the Nile. It was a buffet, drinks not included. Not too impressed with that place.

After lunch we went to the Coptic Cathedral. That was pretty neat. No signs of trouble or danger. Omar kept us in front of him.

Next stop was the Egyptian Museum. The museum was pretty impressive. Ahmed told us that the 2011 revolution was good for us as tourists because there used to be a 1-2 hour wait to get into the room with King Tut's death mask, but this day we walked right in. No crowd at all! Tourism is WAY down in Egypt.

After the museum we headed back to the airport. When we got there, we met our original rep that met us there in the morning. He asked us if w had our boarding passes for the flight back to Hurghada, and we told him we never were given any. He got a little bit of a worried look, made some phone calls, and said it was taken care of, we just needed to wait for the ticket counter to open. When it opened, we were given a little earlier flight back.

When we got back to the airport in Hurghada, we were met again by Khaled.

Overall, the day was great! If you are looking to go to Cairo, or really anywhere that Memphis Tours goes, I would highly recommend them.

From our experience during April 2013, the service from Memphis surely exceeds our expectation. I have to say it isn't easy to organise a tour in Egypt as everything isn't so predictable but Memphis certainly take full responsibility to make sure we make the most out of our time. Special thanks to our tour organiser "Hamada" who well took care of us and other knowledgeable tour guides (Mohamed, Hagga, Emad) as well as our polite driver in Cairo. Highly recommended this tour!!

My wife and I had a very enjoyable 8-day tour of Egypt last month through Memphis Tours. Firstly, their tour consultant, Maged, was very helpful in working with me to come up with an excellent personal tour itinerary. Then, their tour representative met us right at the airport gate as we got off our international flight and helped us through the visa, immigration, and custom formalities before taking us to our luxurious hotel.

The arrangements for the hotel in Cairo, our Nile River cruise ship, and the private car transportation at each place were excellent.

Our guide in Cairo / Giza, Ahmad was very knowledgeable and friendly, giving us a nice historical background on the beautiful sights there and adding much enjoyment to our visit.

In summary, we have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Memphis Tours. They provided us an excellent Egypt experience with an expertly-run private tour, with less cost than that for the standard pre-packaged tours with 20-30 people size groups.

We had a full day Giza Pyramids/Memphis tour 3 weeks ago with Memphis Tours. We also booked private round trip transportation from the airport to the Le Meridian Pyramids hotel. Our guy at the airport was no where to be seen. He was supposed to meet us before immigration, but was no where to be found. So we bought our customs stamp on our own and went down to the luggage carousel. We got our bags and were about to walk outside to look around for him, and then he showed up. We were supposed to have water bottles for us on both trips to the airport and no refreshment was given to us. Then on our way back to the airport there is an initial x-ray security post before the ticket counter check-in. Our escort left before we got through that and the airport security was trying to shake me down for money. It was so shady.

Now to our full day tour part of the review. The first half of the day was a separate Memphis tour that was supposed to include free water bottles, which again were not offered. Same to be said for the afternoon booked tour of the pyramids.

Extra unwanted stops were made at a carpet school, papyrus shop, jewellery shop, etc that clearly had a connection with our guide to give her a cut if we bought stuff. This took precious sightseeing time away from us. By the time we made it to the pyramids is felt super rushed and we were offered very little knowledge about the pyramids and Sphinx.

Then when it came time to see the Sphinx our guide left us and told us to go see it on our own. Not sure if she was doing her prayers or what the reason for abandonment was. Every time we looked back to see where and what she was doing she was sitting down at the sound and light show area talking on her cell phone. When we got to the area to take photos of the Sphinx the local peddlers nearly ruined our whole Egypt experience. It started off with this overly aggressive local woman grabbing my arm and trying to get me to pose a certain way. I sternly said No Thank You in Arabic. This woman didn't get the point. She then went over to my wife who was attempting to take the photo and with one arm was trying to grab the expensive dslr camera from her and with her other hand had a death grip on my wife's arm. My wife was so shook up and almost in tears. I'm all up in this woman's face now yelling at her to let go of my wife. In the meantime we're surrounded by hundred tourists not offering any assistance. Eventually this woman scrammed off, but it almost became physical on our end. After she let go of my wife's arm she had a red mark on her arm for a while from the crazy peddler's death grip. This all could have been avoided if our guide had not let us out of her site all to chat it up with her friends on her mobile.
