“Loud but nice!”
Reviewed January 11, 2012

We came late at night and were pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel looked pretty nice inside compared to the rest of the building it's situated in. The staff was helpful and nice - always ready to help if there is anything. They even served us breakfast on our first day after lunch since we came so late. The only (minor) downside is that they (especially the manager) will try to sell you papyrus and perfumes because the owner of the hotel also owns a papyrus and perfume store - can't blame'em for trying I guess. The hotel is very well situated in the center of a lively shopping area and close to the egyptian museum and metro stations. Be aware that this is an extremely loud part of Cairo. So much in fact that ear-plugs came with our room and they were an absolute necessity due to the noise. But all in all it's a great little hotel with a good character and great staff.

Room Tip: Like many have said, choose a room facing the square if you want to have a view of the vibrant (and...

Located at the center of the hotspots to be visited in Cairo, its on the 1st floor with good rooms managed by good people (except that they will try to get you to their store and try selling their Papyrus paintings and Lotus perfumes, which actually is nothing eccentric, and there is no compulsion either). Nice place to stay. Staff is very much adjustable. Cost is competitive.

Room Tip: I selected a room facing the roadside to get to see and observe their local lifestyle. One can choos...

Location so central we could hear the commotion at Tehrir Square but just far enough so that it didn't impede us from going out. Rooms clean, air con and bed good, hot water. No double glazing though, beware. Breakfast simple but wholesone, served in their great outer veranda where you can appreciate the vibrancy of Cairo from above before a day of sight seeing. Manager will push to sell you perfumes, tourist packages for the pyramids and papyrus from his store. All over priced but able to haggle.

This hotel is located near Tahrir Square, very central. Around is good restaurants, lots of shops, The fantastic Egyptian Museum and a metro station. BTW, the metro is a good and cheap way to get around Cairo, specially during rushhours. The rooms are well appointed, specially for the price range, scrupously clean, and seems to be fairly newly renovated. The staff has just the right blend of friendly familiarity and knowledgeable helpfulnes. We really enjoyed our stay, and will very likely use this hotel again.
If any complaint, it would be that it can be a bit noisy.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the square, and sleep with earplugs, if bothered by noise. The lively traffic on t...

Most of the other reviews are correct. What we loved about this hotel was the location, right in the heart of a shopping district. You walk out the front door and in all directions are shops where ordinary locals shop. We saw no other tourists. The are is clean, upscale and we were not afraid to walk back from dinner in the dark. BTW - the hotel does not present that well in the entrance, but once you get over that, the rooms are fairly nice and the management very helpful.

I stayed only one night at the Cairo Inn (unfortunately). The room was clean, lovely and perfect. Located right on Talat Harb Square and in walking distance to everything definatel made up for the traffic noise in the morning. Bahaa the host is kind, generous and very friendly as were all of his staff.

I'll be going back for more on my next visit.
