Right by Tahrir square, egyptian museum, and nile river. Easy walk to Cairo tower.Staff awesome with assisting in tours, etc. Rooms, AC and Shower good. Food vey good. P.S. don't waste your time going to Alexandria, better to take a day or 2 and go to Luxor.

Room Tip: Try and get view of Musuem side.

I stayed at the City View Hotel for two nights, arriving the day the election results were announced. I couldn't have picked a better hotel to watch the celebrations in Tahrir Square - I had a prime view from my balcony. The staff at City View made me feel very welcome and safe. It was like I was a long lost relative they were very happy to see. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but not intrusively so. The room was fine and everything worked well. The view of Tahrir and the Egyptian Museum is first rate. If you want peace and quiet, maybe not the best location. However, if you want to be in the middle of all the action, it is perfect.

We stated here during our trip in Oct 2011. The location is fantastic - No doubt; right next to the Egypt Museum, looking over Tahir Square; Most of the things are close by.

The Hotel is part of a building complex and has a special lift which goes there. It is one floor. The rooms are basic. We had a room which overlooked the Tahir Square on the left and Egypt Museum on the right. Nice. A little noisy because of the traffic, but that was ok with us.

The staff is fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Great absolutely.

Breakfast was decent.

Let's face it. If you are in Cairo and looking to spend all the time in a hotel this is not for you. However, if you want have a place which is conveniently located, clean and decent and a staff which is friendly/can help you around Cairo coupled with decent room rates. This is the place for you.

Free pick up at the airport, good location walking distance to the Egyptian museum. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have organized trip days to the pyramids so ask to see what they can plan for you, or better you tell them what you want to see.
Check prices and don't fall for their first offer, bargain!!!!!!

City View is a great budget hotel located right off Tahrir Square in central Cairo. Rooms were clean, and the A/C, TV and shower worked very well. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful when arranging tours, taxis, etc. (Like most places, you will pay a bit more if you book through the hotel. On the plus side, you can avoid the haggle on the street and get a professional driver.) It was nice to have my breakfast at the Ali Baba Restaurant overlooking the city. It's also a fun spot to catch a football game at night. I can see why City View is rated one of the best budget hotels in Cairo. Would definitely come back here! Thanks to Marcos and the rest of the staff for making me feel right at home.

It was my first time in Cairo.
Excellent location, next to the Museum and Tahrir Square.(If you don't mind the noise of the traffic).Responded to my emails quickly. Free pick up from airport. Clean rooms and comfortable bed and no problems with shower. High speed wifi.
Friendly staff , I asked them to organise the tours to the Pyramids, Memphis and Historic Cairo
which they did for a very reasonable price and without any pressure.
Overall thanks Marco and Salam and the rest of the staff for making my long awaited Cairo experience a memorable one.

Located in a crowded neighborhood, quite close to Tahrir square and the Egyptian Museum. Rooms are clean but outdated. Free wifi in [small] public area and basic simple breakfast.

Tired and bored staff members at the reception whose efforts to sell over-priced tours and extras spoil the over-all impression of an otherwise acceptable hotel. Many of their advices and suggestions were misleading, at best.
