Harry's Pub is a dark, cold, overpriced and touristy place. Locals go across the street either to Deals (survived the first Islamist wave in the 50s) or to upscale La Bodega also just across the street. If you want world-class you need to take a cab (3 mins for 10LE) and go to Sequoia.

This venue is always busy with a great atmosphere although not cheap. Being in a hotel you will pay hotel bar prices.

We visited this pub for a drink while staying at the Marriott that it's connected to. The staff was great - super friendly and the service was excellent. There was a man singing who was very good and the place had a good vibe. It was really dark in there however...so much so that you're handed a small flashlight with your menu. But I had a great time.

The Zamalek Marriott was built for Princess Eugenie on the opening of the Suez Canal. It was a grand residence once and the garden patio is very similar to its origin, only the carriage way is now a walkway lined with tables and parasols. But I digress. Harry's is a great pub in the Irish fashion and lots of comraderie to watch and enjoy.
