“Great place to stay in Seoul!”
Reviewed July 12, 2009

I stayed at Han Suites with a friend for about 6 days in July 2009. First of all, the people at the front desk are EXTREMELY helpful and they speak English very well. They always stood up and bowed whenever they saw us (which was quite unnecessary) and were very courteous. Whenever we went out they would wish us a nice day and because we visited during the rainy season in Seoul, they would stop up before we went out to offer us an umbrella.

When had booked a Studio with twin beds but when we arrived they had upgrades up to a two bedroom apartment! They even sent someone up with us to show us around. The apartment itself is quite nice. There is a living room area with a TV, ironing board and iron, sink, stove, washing machine, fridge, and plenty of dishes and utensils at our disposal. The cleaning staff comes 5 times a week I believe, but not on the weekends. No problem since you can always call down for more towels. There is air conditioning in both the living room and the bedroom. Also, I liked the firm mattress.

There were some things that bothered me but nothing that greatly affected my opinion of this place. First of all, it is not as "high-tech" or up to date as other hotels. The TV is not a flat screen and the equipment for the golf driving range is a bit worn down. Also, the apartment itself smells kind of old, but opening the windows for about 10 minutes solves that problem. The water system is also a little wacky. When I took a shower it would shift from hot to cold water and was very inconsistent, the staff acknowledged this as well, I believe they were in the process of fixing it.

This place is really great for the price. A great place to stay in downtown Seoul. You are walking distance (literally less then 10 minutes away) from Myung Dong. Namdaemon market, Dongdaemon market, and Insadong are a bit further but still easily reachable. You are also close to Seoul Station so you can take the subway and you get a great view of the Seoul Tower. I never tried the food down at the restaurant but there are many cheap and good eats in Myung Dong. We went to Crown Bakery to get breakfast most days. I highly recommend you book this place for your stay in Seoul.

Stayed here for two months while working in Seoul. On the outside, this place will not win any awards, but inside is a pleasant surprise. The staff is excellent, the food served by Mrs. Moon in her little restaurant is very good (and cheap). The apartments are fine, I had a two bedroom with lots of space. No view to speak off. Close to subway and stores, with easy access to Myeong-Dong. The only drawback is that the front door of the apartment opens to an outside walkway- very cold in the winter, hot and humid in the summer

Our family of 3 stayed a week in their Studio Premier during our holiday at Seoul.
The spacious room comes with a kitchenette, a dining table that seats 4, a work desk, a sofa set with coffee table, 1 double bed and a single bed. Wardrobe space was quite generous too. The room comes equipped with the necessary cooking equipments and cutlery/dining ware, a microwave as well as a good-sized refrigerator which was great for us to store everything we bought from the supermarket especially the kimchi.
So, like the Koreans, for our supper, we stayed indoors and had "home-cooked" noodles with kimchi. Coupled with soju we bought, we truly felt we were in Korea.
Han Suites is not your typical big hotel buildings. In fact, on the outside, it looked uninviting from certain angles but all our skeptism were erased once we were indoors.
Only minus point was the very small toilets which had to double up as a bathroom too. When anyone showered, the toilet seat would be wet.
The apartments is located very near Chungmuro Station . Take a lift down to the basement carpark, walk down a small lane of about 50m and you are on the main road just right in front of a police station. (very friendly and helpful policement whom you can approach anytime and you could even use their toilets!) The entrance to the subway station is within sight. With the subway, everywhere in Seoul was very accessible.
From Han Suites, we could walk to Myeongdong, a mere 5-7min stroll. In fact, we walked down Myeongdong, to Namdaemun, to Seoul Station, Lotte Mart and all the way back again.
There are many restaurants/eateries located in Myeongdong so food was never a problem. In fact, I was glad we could stroll back to the apartments after each meal.
Oh yes. The staff at Han Suites were very helpful and friendly.
I must say we had a very enjoyable stay indeed.
