My husband, one year old son and myself stayed in a standard one bedroom for four nights. We took a taxi to the property, but even with the taxi's gps, it was a bit difficult to find. It's on the main street (Cheongdam-dong)and beneath it is a 7-eleven,which has a lit up sign and easier to see than the humanstarville sign. The evening reception staff were a bit reserved. The day staff were very friendly. The one bedroom was very nice. Furnished with a modern touch and very clean. The kitchen and living room are one room. The kitchen has a four burner gas stove, dish washer, oven, rice cooker, microwave, tea kettle,washer/dryer, etc. The fridge was quite large for a hotel and adequate freezer. The tv is a probably a 46" plasma flat screen with surround sound. Nice touch! There were a few english channels and one Japanese channel, NHK i think. You can open a large sliding window with screen in either the living room or bedroom, but it's not a balcony. The hotel has desktop computers with broadband in the bedrooms. Another nice touch! Modern bathroom. Shower combo bath tub. Bath tub has jacuzzi jets. Shower has three different positions, overhead, handheld or shower jets. Another nice touch! One thing that really impressed me about this place was the attention to detail. In those hotel books, where they list all the hotel info that they leave in the room for you. They put directions on how to use all the major appliances in the apartment as the buttons on the appliances were all in Korean. The directions for the washer/dryer were a bit tricky, but with the help of the reception staff it was easy to use and was quite fast. Powder for the washing machine is free, you have to call the reception for it. There is a 7-eleven and a Chinese restaurant in the B1 level. On the reception floor, there is a small Italian restaurant/cafe. Cheongdam is a nice area, but really outside the sightseeing zone. If you are a tourist, i would recommend staying closer to the city hall subway stop. But if you want to save cash, have more space, then this place is great. It's only a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest subway station, Cheongdam and from there it's around 20-40 minutes to be at the palaces, city hall area. You have to change lines a few times. In Cheongdam, there are ritzy shops. For instance, there are two Louis Vuitton shops around the corner, Galleria mall (lots of branded goods) 5 minute walk, COEX is about a 5 -10 minute taxi ride, Lotte World is also quite close. We had a room on the 14th floor and it was very quiet. Restaurants are located in the back streets not on the main street. But there is a Tom N Tom or something like that coffee cafe a few minutes walk.
Cons: you can take the lift from b1 (by 7 eleven, chinese restaurant, car park) to your floor. There is no security here and when you come to your room, it may be covered with various Korean take out/delivery menus. The place seemed very safe and we had no issues. There is no safe in room. They give you a large paper envelope to store your belongings. They charge for their baby cots/cribs. We brought our travel cot, so it wasn't an issue for us and there is space in the bedroom for a baby cot. Also, when you enter the room and into the bathroom they have these tiny mini steps. You have to really look out for them as they are easy to trip over.
