“Phenomenal food and the booze is just as good :)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014

This is a pub! Music, people, atmosphere, outstanding food, and the booze is spot on. Anything on the menu won't disappoint. I have tried the wings, Chicken parm, and of course the burgers. As far as burgers go in Korea, Maloney's is where you want to be. A wide variety of beers and great scotch. Staff is courteous and service makes you feel that they actually care about the customers. Check it out!

“Great Burgers in Seoul, Wide Selection of Craft Beers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

One of the best burgers you'll find in Korea, fresh ground meat with real cheddar cheese and bacon. Burgers are juicy, not the dry hockey pucks you normally find in Korea. Fries are fresh cut, actually it turns out everything is fresh (they stated that the kitchen doesn't have a freezer).

I'm a big fan of buffalo wings, and these guys have it pretty much spot on with how they should be made. Cheap too, we were there on Wednesday (their "Wing Night") where a full dozen was under 4,000 won.

Wide selection of craft beers, both on draft and in bottles. Don't worry, if you're not a hoppy beer person as they have much of the beer range covered.

Atmosphere was relaxed, with what appeared to be a mix of expats, soldiers and Koreans. Don't worry, unlike a lot of Itaewon area bars the soldiers that were there were small groups and pretty respectable. Definitely not another Itaewon fight club.

Definitely going back.

“Outstanding burgers, amazing soup, and OK staff!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

Upon walking into Maloney's Pub & Grill, the ambiance might seem a little simple and "homey", but not unpleasant. What first might hit the ears is the above-quality sound system, with an ample 5.1 sound system hooked up to a Denon receiver (was that a Def Tech SM45 I saw up there? Huh!), blasting hi-def audio tunes leaning towards a rock & roll vibe, but with a volume setting that won't ruin a conversational atmosphere.
The mascot of the bar is the owner, Brendan. He seems like a nice enough fellow, and he's one of those guys that learns your name the first time you visit and can access it from his conscious the next time you visit.
Looking at the menu, you can see that it is basically a burger, sandwich and soup joint. Any soup of the day is sure to be a winner. If it's "alright", it means the soup is GOOD. When the soup is "good"... it's astounding! Order a cup of soup with a BLT, chicken sandwich or the club, and you might find yourself taking a few steps closer to heaven!
This is only the beginning: with the wonderful beers on tap (sorry, no Hite, Cass, OB or Max at THIS bar - and if you are cheering, you've found the right place!), why not go for one of their delicious, mouth-watering burgers? I have to warn you, though; you might find your fingers soaked in juicy goodness, because these things are fresh and TASTY. Be ready to do some finger-lickin'! My favorites? Outside of all of them, I recommend the Pepperjack Daniels burger, which contains onions and mushrooms flash-cooked with Jack Daniels topped with melted pepperjack cheese. The Jack doesn't overwhelm the flavor, only enhances it.
Sounds too daring? Well, any burger on the menu is sure to have something to quench your burger-testing thirst. The Western Burger is slathered in BBQ sauce, topped with an onion ring. For a slightly less "messy" treat, try the gorgonzola burger, or the standard American cheeseburger. Any choice should make you happy!
Did I mention the fries are freshly cooked? Well, I mentioned it now!
Also, on Mondays, there are some fantastic specials. Aiming for a "home-cooked style meal", every Monday Maloney's presents something new that is not on the menu. From deep-fried grilled cheese sandwiches to a hearty chicken piccata with scrumptious cheese spinach, each Monday turns into an adventure of delectable eclecticism.
Wednesdays are wing nights, with a dozen wings for under four dollars. There are over ten flavors, all of which are amazing. If you're a spicy food fan, you can try the Maloney's "Devil Wing Challenge". Think you can beat the record? Be ready to recover the next day!

I can't finish this review without mentioning Thursday. They make a chicken parmesan that can't be beat anywhere else in Seoul. A breast of chicken that could take the place of a slow moving continent is lovingly placed over a hearty heap of spaghetti - or, if you prefer, it can be put into a patty and made as a burger.

Haven't been to Maloney's yet? It's worth a try at least once! Thumbs WAY up!

I talked to the staff for a little while... they seem nice.
