Owner description: It’s hard to believe that this large, beautiful Buddhist temple is situated in the middle of a bustling metropolis. It’s impossible not to be moved by the beauty and serenity of this enchanting temple. You can even stay overnight for a fee.

“Only for the devotees”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Located in or close to Gangnam, the temple is something of a haven from the high rises, but there is little other than antiquity to mark it out from other historic places of worship. It is set on quite a small site and is more tranquil than splendid; in other words, this is a modest but historic religious rather than tourist site.

“temple in the middle of the city”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

of all the buddhist temples in seoul that i've been to, I like this one the best. It's orderly, clean, and best of all, not at a remote location that requires a metro, bus and then a taxi to get to.

“temple in the middle of a busy city”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Bongeunsa Temple is located in Gangnam, in front of Coex exhibition hall. It's amazing that you can still discover tranquility in the middle of the busy city. For Kdrama lovers, this is where the drama "Faith the Great Doctor" (starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Seon) took place.

“easy access from Gang-nam area”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

This temple is very close to World trade center of Korea and Coex mall. You may come to the site in about 7 minutes from Sam-Seong station of No.2 (green) subway iine.
A few decades ago the area around this temple was a rural town. Now it has been changed into a crowded business town.
this temple is being visited by rich buddist people who live in Gang-nam and adjascent area.
The tourist had better avoid the very short sleeve or pants before visiting there because the pltemple is sacred place. however there's no restriction on dressing.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

We just saw this from COEX mall and decided to go see it. The place is nice and peaceful. A good place to sit, meditate and just walk around.
