When we arrived it was dark and looked like an undesirable location but those that run Doulos have their act together. It had everything one would need and as usual in Korea, everyone spoke English and helped us navigate to where we wanted to go. Great breakfast---western style though we appeared to be the only westerners. The room was small but very clean and had everything---including chocolates. Great location to subway and shopping. It was a small hotel and we'd highly recommend it to anyone going to Seoul. (Did we mention that it was very reasonable and included breakfast?)

Room Tip: It's on a quiet side street so we don't think it really matters where you end up.

My husband and I stayed at Doulos Hotel for a week in late October and early November. From the start of our stay to the end, we were very impressed by the professional, attentive and friendly service we received from the staff at the front desk. They were always on deck to provide recommendations and go the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. When we went away to the countryside for a few days in between, they ensured the luggage we left behind was secure and well taken care of.

The rooms, while relatively small, are impeccably clean and very functional. The computer area with free internet is also maintained with care (keyboards & mouse are disinfected on a regular basis!). We disagree with preceding reviews classifying the breakfast as a bit lacking - more than continental, the spread consisted of soup, fresh fruit and salad, meats, several types of bread etc. The location (a 10-min. walk from Insa-dong, 20-min. walk from Myeong-dong) is excellent for exploring the city; though it wasn't easy finding the hotel initially, once we got our bearings straight we were able to use the subway and walk to and from the hotel with ease.

To summarize, Doulos has all the ingredients of a very good boutique hotel in Seoul, with an 'above and beyond' front staff who will make visitors to the city feel as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Hotel was easy to find from train station. Only problem was dragging our 32kg samsonite up the stairs from subway to ground level - no elevators available!

Lovely hotel - room was bigger than anticipated - we were expecting a pigeon hole but there was a study table and a wardrobe. Nice modern look to hotel and room.

There's actually a food stretch across the road between the commercial buildings on the way to myeongdong - lots of restaurants to choose from - an entire stretch - much better than the offering at myeongdong.

We took a cab to get to seoul station to catch the airport train as I didnt want to drag our luggage down the subway station...bad idea! Terrible traffic throughout the journey - a supposedly 5 minute ride turned out to be 30 minutes!

Will definitely stay here again when we next go to seoul

Room Tip: i think we had room 306....nice quite room with a good layout...

Amazingly convenient location. Airport bus stops by the drug store you need to take for this hotel. Thank you very much for all other ppl who made comments here, it helped me heaps. Free wifi, breakfast (0700-0900) and laundry. Everything you need to get you going. Hotel personnel speak fair English and Japanese. This is the hotel I will come back to stay for my next visit. Great place to stay.

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel is centrally located, and in walking distance from the Insadong, the tourist place and shops. The room was very small, however, clean and nice with all needed amenities. The deluxe continental breakfast is included, which was a plus too.
