“Great!!!!”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Will keep it short, but basically we had nothing to fault at the Park Hyatt in Seoul - food, service, location; all great!!!
The decor is amazing and everything we ate was perfect. Loved the fact that you can order fresh sashimi from their bar via room service.
We traveled with our kids and all the things that they arranged for us before arrival were excellent. We could even order mashed organic baby food from room service - we didn't but were already impressed how they considered the needs of parents.
I thought it was going to be more business and not good for the family, but we were wrong. The kids had a great time.
Can't wait to go back.

Great location. Greeted by name (as a Hyatt member). Well appointed, clean, stylish. Attentive staff and service. Staff are there when you need them but they stay in the background. I was upgraded to a Deluxe room and it was clean, spacious and quiet. Hotel has been well maintained and hardly seems 9 years old. Comfortable bed which is difficult to come by in Korea. Plenty of electrical outlets w/an extra adapter if needed, nice bathroom and amenities. The spa was quite nice (a bit on the expensive side). Cornerstone had an exhaustive menu and the service was lovely. Minor minuses: the elevator is confusing (you have to go to one floor and then switch elevators to get to your final destination). There was always someone there to quickly point me in the right direction though. The granite in the shower can get slippery, so be careful. Bathroom needs a bit more lighting for my taste. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are more quiet. Another guest mentioned to me that his room was very noisy (7th floor...

4.5 stars.

The first room they gave us was near the elevator (maybe the closest to the elevator?); it was small, awkwardly laid out, and a little shabby in places (the TV in the bathroom didn't function). The sliding doors on the closet, in particular, were very awkward. However, we had issues with the shower leaking like crazy on our second day and were switched to a different room. The second room was much better: larger, brighter, and everything worked.

Front desk was polite and the concierge was helpful in booking restaurant reservations and giving directions.

Seoul is sprawling and there isn't much to see near the hotel. But, it is literally right on top of a subway line and cabs are cheap.

I have been to many Hyatt properties worldwide but this one has really offered by far the best experience and service I have ever seen anywhere. Despite running the risk of this sounding too emotional I was truly impressed by the standard of service the hotel staff was living up to. The rooms and facilities are in an impeccable state and I can only recommend to this hotel to anyone who will stay in Seoul. It is definitely a better place than the Grand Hyatt in the city center - the Park Hyatt Seoul simply offers an incredible service experience

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms offer the best value - they are considerable better than the standard rooms and suites...

I had a decent stay in this stylish hotel, It is located near the subway and KAL bus stop. There are a number of shops, cafes and bars in the area.

My room was quite tight though, with very limited space between the bed and wall. The bed was also very hard. The views were fantastic over the city but because of the angles of the building, there were also fantastic views into the rooms of your neighbors in the hotel. The staff was sure to point this out upon checkin but a building with floor to ceiling windows you must keep the shades closed on is sort of pointless.

The bathroom was very spacious and contained a great tub and nice amenities but had a dirty film over the mirrors and glass. The room service prices weren’t bad for food but beverage prices on delivery and in the minibar were ridiculous, much higher than comparable hotels.

I will be trying a different hotel should I return to Seoul.

This is an interesting hotel. The rooms were very nice and plenty of staff on hand to help but not a normal hotel in layout. The lobby is on the 24th floor so when you enter you hit the bell stand and go up to the 24th floor. They do have a workout area and pool next to a small gathering area in the lobby but that's about it. Now, to get to and from your room you have to take the elevator back to the 24th floor and then down. To get out of the hotel, back to the 24th floor over to next elevator and down...weirdest deal. Nice restaurant in the basement but seriously pricey...$17 for a Corona or $21 for a shot of Jim Beam! I have no problem spending money but this was somewhat silly.

There is not much around and so you either are taking a taxi or subway to get out and see various sights. Again, the hotel staff and rooms are top notch as you would expect for a 5 star, I just think there might be some other options to check out in other districts. I did stay in a suite and the view was cool because you were high up but really it was of tall buildings and car traffic. I was on the main street side and did hear constant traffic noise. My friend had the other side and it was quieter.

Room Tip: Pick a room that is not on the street side to avoid traffic noise

This is a divine luxury hotel with outstanding service. When we could not figure out how to use the cash station, the hotel sent a staff person with us to walk to the cash station and provide an explanation. When we called guest services for additional towels, they arrived immediately. The concierges were patient, helpful and knowledgeable. They provided good restaurant recommendations, perfect directions for getting to places and sights to see. The only downside to the hotel was the location which is south of the river and far removed from the major sights. It was a minimum of 30-40 minutes via metro or taxi (due to the heavy traffic) to get from the hotel to the palaces, museums, and other places. Although the metro stop was with 50 feet of the hotel, it required a great deal of time to get to destinations. Furthermore, there were not very many upscale restaurants within walking distance or under a 20 minute taxi ride with the exception of the hotel restaurants. Overall the hotel itself was superb if you don't mind the inconvenience of the location.

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the 18th with a king bed and it was ideal. The room was spacious and had e...
