We love the Park Hyatt in Tokyo so we decided to give this Hotel a try after having stayed at our favorite hotel in Seoul, the Lotte Hotel for a few days. We have stayed at many five star hotels in Seoul.

The hotel is very modern, stylish, and hip. This felt like a small boutique hotel despite the Hyatt name. My wife commented that she felt a little uncomfortable because the room reminded her of an art museum. The floor to ceiling window was spectacular...decor, very chic. However, the view was not up to what we experienced at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo.

The service was among the best of any hotel we have stayed at. This would be a perfect hotel for a business traveler with business in Kangnam except perhaps for the cost. The neighborhood was pretty nondescript, unlike a place like Lotte which is surrounded by activity and local color. There was no club lounge. So for us, we prefer the location and the club lounge at a "downtown" hotel like the Lotte.

Room Tip: High floors give a nice view. Also, the floor to ceiling windows make the rooms visible from the out...

Everything about this hotel is polished, from service to decor. It was absolutely a fabulous stay but there are few issues I have that can use a big improvement. First, the hallway carpets. I've stayed on 14 th floor and there are all these stains on the carpet. If that's part of the decor, it's obviously not a necessity. Please clean that up! Second, for a hotel that is supposedly 'kid-friendly', the pool is off limits to children ?
Third, it may be as bothersome for someone who only stays a single night or two but my 1 week stay was perturbed by the elevator setup. You had to take one elevator all the way to the top, where the lobby is, and take another elevator down to your room. It's quite annoying after the first night.

On the plus, the view is to die for. The service immaculate. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. I would definately not mind staying here the next time I'm in Seoul.

I decided to treat myself and my partner to a night at this 5* hotel and allow ourselves to soak in the luxury. I requested for an early check-in through email and it could be easily arranged. Wanting to extend our stay to its maximum, we also requested for a late check-out, which was however only partially offered (check-out at 1PM instead of 12PM, on the website a late check-out for 2PM was advertised, depending on availability of course). All the staff we interacted with were extremely professional, very fluent in English, and even made an effort on polite small-talk.

The room itself was amazing. We opted for the basic room, which was however nothing like basic. The first impression from the floor-to-ceiling windows was awe-inspiring, with wonderful views over the city (more so during the night!). The room itself was spacious (unlike its sister rooms at Grand Hyatt) with a small seating area by the window, a big bed at the center of the room, and a dining area close to the entrance of the room. There was also a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom. The bathroom itself was separated in three areas: the toilet, the washing area, and the bathtub/shower area. The bathtub was huge, easily fitting two people (or three...), and was directly by the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. That made of a bit of an awkward situation as without lowering the blinds, one could be seen from the opposite wing of the hotel. The shower was also amazing, with a rain-shower function and an embedded TV (so that you can watch your favorite Korean drama while showering). Special mention goes to the bath-products offered. One of the most lavish and nose-titillating shower-gel and shampoo I've tried (Aesop products, also apparently sold by the hotel).

We ordered room-service and the food was surprisingly good at prices that although high were not exorbitant, given the 5* of the hotel (again, I'm looking at you Grand Hyatt). The next morning we headed down to get breakfast. The food on offer was ample and tasted good. I did however get a sense of stuffiness as the restaurant felt a bit over-crowded. The made-on-the-spot egg dishes and pancakes were a very nice tough!

All in all, my experience with Park Hyatt was simply put unforgettable. Despite the scale of the hotel, the service did not fail to be personal, friendly, but also polite and professional. I would definitely come again!

This was the second of two hotels we booked in Seoul. As with our previous hotel, the reception is on the top floor, with a concierge podium on the ground entry. There is a very professional reception and door service here, with perfect English from almost all staff. Although we had booked a standard room, on first entry I had thought we had mistakenly booked a suite. There is a lot of real estate. Our room had a king bed, very comfortable, though firm, perfect for us. Wall windows gives us city views on two directions, with curtains and blackout blinds with automatic open/closing functions. There is extensive use of wood on the floor and walls, with doors disguised as panels. There is a floating wall disguising a wide vanity unit, with a separate toilet and separate bathroom grotto. The use of undressed granite on the bathroom wall with a rain shower and bath the size of a swimming pool added magic to that little room. Word of warning, though - the window walls includes the bathrooms, and there windows are not externally mirrorred. Luckily, there are separate blockout blinds and curtains for the bathroom. There is of course a kettle, real coffee, complimentary bottled water, and a room safe. Hotel staff are exceptionally plentiful and attentive. The Samseong metro station is literally at your doorstep. We did not particularly explore the neighbourhood for food options, though the Hyundai department store and Coex shopping mall is across the street, with food courts. The hotel will shuttle you to the "airport bus terminal" where you can catch the airport limousine bus directly to Incheon airport (15000 Korean Won, or about AUD$15 for one person).

This is not a cheap stay, but you do get what you pay for. An exceptional hotel. Highly recommended.

The Park Hyatt has a complicated lift system- but they managed to get around it by handling my check-in done in the room- which is greatly appreciated after a long flight, and arriving at the hotel close to midnight. Fantastic location, convenient and easy to get around. Hotel décor slanted towards the minimalist sort- very pleasing to the eye, but somehow did not feel as inviting as her sister hotel, Grand Hyatt.
Nonetheless, this is a great hotel to stay for business- Will absolutely recommend it if you are looking for a hotel in Kangnam.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room-

We stayed 2 nights at the Park Hyatt based on reviews on Tripadvisor. We arranged an airport pick-up by the hotel limo service (an Hiunday Equus, affordable and no need to to pay extra for the Mercedes. Very luxurious and tons of leg room (I'm 6'7"/2m) in the back. Unfortunately the promissed hotel WiFi didn't not work either trip.
Upon arrival we were overwhelmed by all the satff trying to help us and unload our luggage and escort us to the top floor foor check-in. It was suggested we ugrade for $30 pernight to a room away from the street because of the noise at nigth. It did help some: I wonder what the other side would have been noise wise.
The room was spacious and modern with floor to ceiling windows, which no doubt adds to the noise level from the street. The bathroom is spectacular with a nice size tub, and e piece of granite from which the shower extends. Problem with the the floor to ceiling windows and angled buildiing is that guests in neigboring rooms can watch you in the shower so you have to (semi) close the blinds for privacy, missing the view, except at night when the city is lit-up. The closet can be reached from 2 sides: bathroom and room, quite handy and there si enough room in the bathroom. Towel hooks are lacking, which is poor design.
The room is spacious with a (breakfast) table. There is a French press coffee maker but don't eexpect ,more than 2 coffee pods, very stingy. The bed is nice looking one of the worst in the industry: Looks great, but rock hard. A typical Japanese (floor) bedmat is more luxurious in comparison. One of the worst we ever slept on and especially surprising after a great night sleep in the Park Hyatt Tokyo..
As others have written, the elavators are confusing, having to go up from your room to the lobby ad than down to the ground floor. Alos somwhat odd, the pool right next to the bar/lounge.
The food in the restaurant is mediocre and extremely expensive, US $40 for a piece of undercooked salmon, no side dishes, those are each $10. Forget the wine, cheapest bottle around $60 and by the glass starting at $17, really? And nothing exceptional. Tap water is offered but all hotel staff warned us not to drink tap water, so that's odd to say the least and we drank tap water elsewhere in the city without problems. Ofcourse bottled water can be at a premium, first small bottle free in your room.
For coffee, walk outside, plenty of local coffee shop and a Starbucks acroos the street. Yu can buy a cup of coffee in the lounge and enjoy the ciew. Expect to pay $11,50 for one cup.
Since you are in the businees district, there is really not much to do in the neighborhood unless you are there for a business meeting/conference. A taxi to the city center will set you back $30, quite cheap considerng it can take an hour in heavy traffic, but 25-30 minutes if "quiet", all the same price.
Overal, beautiful room, nice service, horrible bed, and the most utragious pricing we've ever seen, about 50% above what we paid in Tokyo where we came from (the Park Hyatt and Four Seasons), not know for being an inexpensive city. If your business pays for it, great place.

Room Tip: get a room away from the main road or bring earplugs.

It was such a hassle having to go up the 24th floor, transfer elevators before you could go down.

However, once you do get to the guest floor, its magnificently designed. The room is nice, the bathroom was a big wow. I also enjoyed the switch controlled curtains that offer black out. Theres also fresh fruits daily and the housekeeping are really detailed and provides a personalized touch in their cleaning.

Going to the pool was also pretty awkward as the people by the lobby could see you. The business center was fantastic offering an amazing view of the city.

The location is terrific as its right in front of the subway so getting around was truly easy.

Whats special about this hotel would be the personnel - they approach and offer assistance as compared to other hotels wherein they stand around and wait for you to approach.
