We spent 5 days at the Park Hyatt Seoul and were most impressed by the service offered by the staff. We arrived at the hotel at around 0800 hrs in the morning and was surprised that we could check-in with a room provided to us. Though the location is at COEX and a bit far from downtown area, it has a huge shopping mall nearby and is next to the metro station. The breakfast is good but the varieties of food are a bit limited. We had dinner at the 'Timber House', one of the restaurant. We found it a bit interesting the the restaurant served Thai food instead of Korean food. We later learned that the chef from the grand hyatt in Thailand happened to visit
Seoul, no wonder the Thai food we had were very tasty. Finally, we were amazed to find out that the hotel provides a complimentary taxi to take the customers to
the airport terminal at COEX for early check-in. And the
taxi is a huge limousine taxi!

The worst part of the trip was riding a taxis from the ariport through the big traffic jam to the hotel. After that, everything is great during our stay. Subway rides to most of the Seoul attractions are a little far away but the hotel is close to COEX where we had our meetings. Beautiful modern room reasonably large. Beautiful stone work in the bathroom, with the bath tub overlooking the city by the window. We were under the assumption that you can only see the outside with the windows curtain open but no one can see you from outside. We were wrong, the next day when we were outside COEX looking back to the hotel, we could actually see through the windows to the inside of the hotel bathrooms.

Nice facility but the level of staffs is the worst in the world- both education level and mindset. So surprised to see all staffs are consistently so bad and unkind: i am in the call to find my lost item and the guest service person seems to have 1 digit IQ. You should compromise all basic service & attitude (which are possible even at b&b) by getting nice city view and somewhat unique room layout + wetroom. The most expensive room rate in Seoul and u will meet bunch of mysterious couples at breakfast. If you don't want to ruin ur stay in Seoul, please please stay at near other international hotels : Ritz Carlton, Coex/ Grand Intercontinental.

I have stayed in two 5* hotels in Seoul, the Shilla and the Park Hyatt. The Park Hyatt is definitely better and almost faultless. Location is very good. There is an underground station just in front of the hotel, a taxi stand is just across the street - there are 2 types of taxis in Seoul expensive 'black' ones where you pay about 50 % more and you get a larger limousine, and normal ones that are just fine. If you ask for a taxi at the hotel you usually get the expensive type. At the Park Hyatt you can ask for a normal, they just get it from across the street. The breakfast is among the best ones I have ever had in any hotel. Rooms have a cool design and are spacious, staff is super-friendly, the pool is on the 24th floor with a great city view etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a city view room at least at the 15th floor or higher
