For those of you westerners not experienced traveling in Japan or other compact Asian coutries...be prepared for a size shock. The room is very tiny but manages to fit in an LCD monitor, desk, fridge, sink, hot top, and bed.

Be warned: The bathroom is Korean style and thus the shower is in the bathroom space with the toilet and sink. So you will have to step around the toilet while you shower. (and if you are compulsive reader like me...dont leave the newspaper in the bathroom on accident when you shower).

However, if you cant afford the Intercon (and who can these days?) then this is an alternative with the same great access. Staff speaks passable english and really tries to help.

Pros: LOCATION IS FAB, Free Internet, cheap dry cleaning service (for korea)
Cons: Breakfast is a joke (spoiled fruit and warm milk...just avoid), small rooms, the occasional Filipino hooker as a neighbor.

Bottom line: if you want to see Seoul on a budget and cant stand the idea of staying in a "Love Motel" then this place could be for you. If you have an event at the coex and the company slashed the travel budget, check it out.

I use Tripadvisor quite a bit and booking mostly low/midrange places to stay I often see negative reviews by people apparently expecting the Hilton but without being willing to pay for it. This accommodation is great value. The neighourhood borders on the premises of the COEX convention center. Below the convention center is the COEX mall, completely underground, and the biggest mall in Korea. Please visit the supermarket in the Hyundai Dept Store, that's quite an experience. The neighbourhood has about a hundred little coffeeshops, restaurants, bars and shops. You're right next to the Samsung Station (subway, metro) with the green line passing (line nr. 2). The rooms in the Casaville break records in what they've managed to put into an absolute minimum of space: a working desk, a double bed, a kitchen, a fridge, a toilet and a shower. You have your own air conditioning. In the lobby there's a set-up with two free Internet stations. Yes it's quite small but you're probably not going to Seoul to spend most of your time in your hotel room.

The rooms are very compact but clean and functional. Small cooking area near the door, a pull-out table, low bed, air conditioning, small bathroom with a shower which wets the entire bathroom when you shower. 2 free high speed computers in the lobby, basic breakfast included in a funny completely mirrored small room in the basement. Cereal, juice, coffee, sometimes hard-boiled eggs, and either bread or buns and some fruit. The room was very clean and quiet since the building is located a block away from the main street. About a block away from the COEX mall with several restaurants, and near the Samsung subway station. The only problem was that is was about a 35 to 40 minute ride on the subway to the Itaewon, downtown and other scenic areas - and usually entailed a transfer to one of the other subway lines. About a block away from the City Air Terminal with direct express bus service to Inchon airport - at least a one hour bus ride. A bit noisy in the morning with people opening and closing doors to the tiled hallway. Basic clean accommodation at a reasonable rate.

Having been booked in by a company and arriving after a long intercontinental flight, I have to admit that I was shocked when I came into the room: Under a huge neon lamp, I could see a bed, some kitchenette and a desk in an overheated, cramped and generally worn-down room looking like right out of a Won Kar Wai-Movie.

The tiny, tiny bathroom had a shower head installed directly over the toilet, so if one took a shower, he showered the whole room, too.

The whole place did not feel welcoming, and generally not the kind of place you would want to find yourself when trying to recover from a jet jag. I booked happily into another hotel the next day.

BUT: You have to credit quite a few things to about the place, too:
- First, everything is quite clean and even the hot water was working, too.
- If you are on a tight budget, the location is A+ for visitors or exhibitors of the COEX.
- The area is safe, central and convenient right next to an underground station
- Many international chain restaurants and local pubs around
- Free internet access in the lobby and in the rooms

If you are satisfied with a no-frills hostel environment, the place is fine. If you expect Asian fancy luxury or even any kind of inspiring experience, avoid the place at all costs - unless you are a fan of Won Kar Wai movies.
