I booked the hotel on Agoda.com based on price and ratings received from Tripadvisor.com. The rate was great and this was the first time I planned a trip to Seoul (before I went with a travel group), so I wasn't familiar with the different areas.
Gangnam is south of the river, and not typically where tourists stay. But we loved the area!!! There were so many restaurants; out of the 4 days we were there, we ate in the area for lunch or dinner at least once a day. The area is also cleaner, with wider streets, then other areas we visited.
The subway stop was 3 blocks away. It's on the #2 line, so often we had to transfer to another line to get to our destination. But it wasn't too hard to do. And trips to major tourist areas were only 20 minutes or so.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. I was anticipating a very hard bed, given experience in Asia, but it was quite comfortable. There's also a kichenette with a fridge. The hotel has a small convenient store in the lobby, so you can buy drinks and store it. The bathroom is basic and clean. Some slight coloring of the tiles along the edges, but nothing to complain about.
Overall, we really liked the area and the hotel.More
