Owner description: "A talented troupe of Korean performers treats Cookin' audience to a taste of Culinary lunacy-sliced and diced to percussive perfection." - Playbill, Minetta Lane Theater - NANTA premiered in 1997 and is the longest running show in Korean history. This electrifying 90-min show, on the comically-charged efforts of four cooks who are tasked with preparing an entire wedding banquet in just one hour, is one of Korea's most popular musicals of all time. Since its first performance, this world famous non-verbal performance made a record of 20% above full capacity at the theater driving the largest number of audience in Korean history.

“Worth It If You Have Extra Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The show is about a group of cooks and their manager preparing for a wedding banquet. The actors made use of drumming, dancing, martial arts and occasional dialogue and singing to tell their story. It was very creative, entertaining, and engaging. At first we were apprehensive about bringing the kids, aged 3 and 5, to watch the show. But the plot was very easy to understand, and since comedy has no language barriers, even they were entertained. Both kids kept laughing throughout the show.

Ticket prices were very reasonable. We bought ours online ahead of time so we were able to choose good seats, and got discounted rates.

There are so many wonderful places to see in Seoul but this is definitely worth the visit if you have extra time!

“Don't Miss Nanta”

One of many non-verbal performances in Seoul, the kids loved it. Well worth the price of admission. Lots of comedy and action - make sure you save time to see Nanta.

“Nanta Shmanta”

This is a rainy day sub-par attraction at best. If you've been to any theatre festivals in any part of the world, you'll be severely disappointed by this loud and vaudeville slapstick physical comedy based non-spectaculare. In the top 100 attractions, maybe. But no way does it deserve to be #1.

“Hilariously amazing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

Its a fun show without any heavy plot to begin with. Don't expect to learn how to cook, the kitchen is just the setting. Don't be afraid if you don't understand Korean. Comedy is a global language. Its a lot of things rolled into one: comedy, martial arts, music, audience participation, etc. Must see if you just want to kick back a relax.
Oh, I also brought my 6yo son and he was laughing with me!
