Part of the wonderful complex that includes the Gyeonbokgung Palace, this museum is well organized and provides interesting insights into Korean history and life as it developed over time. Adjecent is a fun park for kids, a new exhibit of a Korean town in the 50s, and so much more. There is also a small museum shop, a coffee and snack shop to take a break and often life traditional music events are offered. Its fun for visitors of all ages

Any museum that allows me to take non-flash pictures is above average; any museum that is absolutely free (including special exhibits) almost always automatically gets an excellent rating. Nice exhibits presenting Korean folk culture.

After seeing much of Gyeonbokgung Palace, we proceeded to this very nice museum.
Several galleries of very colorful, well-done, intricate and informative displays will greet you in this building.
This is a must-visit in Seoul.

Located within one of the temple complexes this museum has excellent exhibits with detailed explanations in English. World class. Seriously consider putting this on your Seoul Itinerary

located on the grounds of Gyeongbukgung Palace, the national folk museum does a nice job showing culture and what life was like for Koreans over time. You can find traditional clothing, art and ceramics on display. Worth a visit since it's free
