“Korean hospitality enjoyed”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Where to start, with the clean, modern, bright and spacious room or with the excellent breakfast? Where to continue, with the polite and helpful staff or the good gym, pool, wellness? Too difficult. So I just recommend this hotel to all of you who have their business partners in Gangnam. Even if you commute into Seoul this hotel is a good choice – the subway (I love it) is just around the corner.

All my expectations have been met or exceeded.

And why do I “only” give a very good instead of excellent? Well, I must save some distinction for the Shangri-La hotels.

Room Tip: Take a room to the back, away from the street

Just stayed in the Riviera for the second time in two months. Since the first stay they have installed wifi to all rooms which is great. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with lots of pillows. Downside are the prices of coffee and meals in the cafe and the restaurants.

Room Tip: Rooms from 21 up have the best outlook.

like stepping into a time-machine, the whole establishment looked like it was straight from the late 80s. very outdated everything, but clean and warm anyway. the "skybar" upstairs could've been a movie set. staff were not paying attention to customers, no hellos, no opening doors, etc. asking advice on how to get to a train station, had to ask several people. (this was pointed out by previous posters too). the location was not exactly nice, there was nothing of interested nearby, and had to walk 15mins to find a concentration of restaurants. the "korean bbq" places in the immediate vicinity, mentioned by a previous poster, were a mystery to me. no wifi, only lan cable which I didn't try. i got an offer on Hotelclub, and immediately after seeing the place realised why it was on sale. so, given the price it was not bad, but perhaps paying the same amount for a hostel would have resulted in a much nicer experience.

Room Tip: go somewhere else if you're bothered with what kind of room you'll get

Second times stayed at this hotel, there are two towers, new and old wing, the new wing are bigger room too
Both are equally nice rooms

What i like about this hotel is :
The airport limousine stop just outside this hotel, each trip won 10 thousand per person, near to the minimarts, near to lots of resto, fruits shops , bakery and a walking distance to cheongdam metro station

The facilities in the hotel include the sauna, sport massage and fitnes centre

This is one of my favourite hotel in gangnam area

The rooms in this hotel are rather small, but for its size it provides you with a nice round coffee table, 2 chairs, a huge TV, a big wardrobe, well-stocked mini bar and toiletries (they do not line their dustbins though so you may wish to bring your own plastic bags or ask for them from hotel staff, especially if you have kids and you need to throw their soiled diapers in the bins, for example). The windowside has a long ledge for you to put additional stuff on. However, there's not much space for 2 luggages to be opened up across the floor hence space-wise it can be a bit challenging for a family of four staying in a room. But it's still manageable.

The bed is not very comfortable though, as I found the mattress to be a bit hard. I would say I wish I could have had a better rest throughout the night if the mattress was more comfortable.

The buffet breakfast spread at the cafeteria is good. They even have sour cream cheese pie, pecan pie and yummy yoghurt as part of the spread. I stayed over for 2 nights at this hotel with my 2 young kids and my husband. I asked for a room with a double-bed and a single bed. The double bed is not very big, not queen-sized but the single bed was quite big, rather wide for a single bed.

I stayed here for 10 days for a business trip, so I wanted to make sure that I get a really comfortable room. The first room I was offered was a standard room at the old wing, and the TV was to the left of the bed, so I had to turn my head all the time I was watching TV. Obviously I asked for a change, and the receptionists graciously showed us 2 other rooms to choose from. In the days to come, I had a few random requests asking for salt, bowls, extra shampoos, just to make myself more

Stayed 2 nights...
Generally language is a problem all over Korea for english speaking people, but with the hotel staff it was manageable.

Room was clean, bit small, needed some maintenance in batroom shower to leakage
Excellent Gym and swimming pool, sauna/massage at extra cost
location is Right next to a bus stop, but subway is 5-7 minute walk.

Room Tip: I got a corner, back facing room (1220)... I guess the ones with a view of the main road will be be...
