Just came back from staying at Lotte Hotel Seoul.. As i mentioned in the title... this place has an excellent location.. right smack in the middle of the shopping district of meyeongdong... just cross the underpass and you are there in the bustling shopping. There are loads of street stalls at night and stores such as ZARA, GAP, H & M, Face Shop, Etude House, Nature Republic, Nike, Addidas.... most of the sales people at these shops speak fluent Japanese and Chinese.. so if you know this two language, it is not difficult to get around.. They do try to speak English too..

Hotel is not only near to meyeongdong area but also not too far away from some other great places such as Insadong and BukChon area. We walked the Bukchon area shops and Insadong area shops and found many quaint little shops selling their own brand of self-designed accessories and clothing. Though it was about a 20 min slow walk back to Lotte Hotel, it was a nice walk..

Service from the Hotel staff was inpeccable, we couldn't ask for more.. They try their best to serve us though most of the guests in this hotel were mainly Japanese tourists. They were helpful when our group needed help in getting some stationeries to pack our shopping stuff into boxes to check in for our flight.

Though expensive, it is well worth the money we spent for the convienience it gave all of us.. Oh yes.. the subway station is literally below our hotel.. so is the supermarket and shopping mall.. pricey but extremely convenient.

Don't get me wrong. This is a great/luxury hotel. But, for the price you pay, it can be improved. For example, giving free internet access. I have stayed in other Seoul hotels as a tourist and they were cheap, clean, comfortable and with free internet. So, I would only recommend this hotel if you go for business and the location and other amenities are a must.

Nicely refurbished rooms; clean; service is good; few english language tv stations; very old equipment in the gym; restaurants and room service are way too expensive!!
