This was my second stay at this hotel, and it's still in great shape. They've recently redone the entryway and registration, and it's much more accessible.

Rooms are outdated (at least mine was), and the decor and available personal amenities are very masculine, so in line with Korean culture, this hotel didn't seem to cater well to young, female business travelers.

Hotel restaurant for breakfast is very mediocre. This restaurant was totally redone from my last trip, and I remember the buffet being MUCH better than it was this second time around. Food on both occasions was cold, it took a long time to get coffee service, and the whole counter of dim sum I remember from my last trip (2008) was no longer part of the buffet.

Drinks in the bar are unbelievably expensive. But it's a nice atmosphere for a hotel bar.

Hyundai department store is next store, so that's a plus!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent review here on TripAdvisor, much appreciated.

As you have highlighted, yes we have completed a major remodeling project here at the hotel since your last visit with some really positive feedback.
I was surprised to read that you felt there was less variety available on this visit especially on our buffet as this is currently the largest buffet available in a hotel in Korea, however I will speak with the Kitchen team to keep an eye on the temperatures.
Please do drop us a note with your thoughts in relation to how we can better cater to the single traveling female's as your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again and we do hope to be able to welcome you back to the hotel on your next visit to Seoul.

Best Regards,

Daytime noise from adjacent construction site is unacceptable. Constant hammering throughout the day means no chance to catch up on jet lag. The hotel itself is past it's peak and looks in need of renovation.
Service is as you would expect in Korea

Quick overnight here. Easy check in, nice rooms, awesome breakfast buffet. Easy walk to city air terminal to grab a bus to Inchon airport. Much of the attached mall is closed for renovation at present, so not as many shopping options. Nearby Buddhist temple was a ten minute walk and well worth it to see sculptures and learn a bit.

After searching through reviews for a hotel in the gangnam area I wound up choosing here after comparing prices for hotels around as well as looking for a hotel nearby subway, restaurants and shopping.

Reception
Check in was very fast and efficient and reception was Very helpful in giving information about places nearby and even gave us a tourist map, and circled areas for me to check out. There english was very good and understand anything I asked

Room
For my room type I booked the junior suite as I was staying quite a few days here however the Bed is bit hard to sleep on, also in the room you will find only 2 international electric sockets for charging electronics, they have many more in the room but they are all local electrical sockets. If you got bored in your room on TV, you were spoiled for choices have many channels and many languages, but the nice thing is you can pull the TV out from the wall to adjust to watch on the bed or sofa. Bathroom is a bit outdated and I found the shower on some days not draining water. For air conditioner even though I would set the temperature low it never actually felt like the temperate I set it at. Room did have a safety box in it to store your items though.
Internet - reliable and fast enough although keep in mind do the fact many people have to share the wifi don't expect to enjoy real internet speeds south korea is known for

Restaurant - no comments as never tried the food

Spa - This hotel has no spa and as I was here for many days I would have really liked to enjoy a spa treatment. However not a big deal as i went to the hotel across the road and used there spa

Location is perfect, as to the left of the hotel is the samseong subway station less than a 5 minute walk, across the street are some restaurants and to the right of the hotel is the Hyundai department store which has a grocery store on the basement floor and a food court.

Getting here. From icheon airport at the exit gate 4 in arrivals is the KAL bus service, pay 16,000 won per person and take bus 6704, there are a few stops on this route but it will drop you right in front of the hotel entrance, time to hotel is about 60 minutes depending on traffic. By the way the KAL bus service is very spacious for seats and clean. If you choose to take the KAL bus service back to the airport you can buy the ticket with the receptionist at the hotel for the same price.

Lastly if your purpose of coming to Seoul is for sight seeing this hotel is not an ideal place to stay as most sites are 40 minutes away by subway, especially for places like north Seoul tower and gyebokgung palace. This place is fine though if your only wanting to shop near gangnam or are on business.

Room Tip: If you want access to free wifi you have to be a member of IHG

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent detailed review following your visit to Seoul, much appreciated.

You have highlighted many of the great reasons to choose our hotel when visiting Seoul and with all the new shopping and entertainment facilities located within the Coex Mall opening over the next couple of months you will certainly never be short of things to do.
There are countless numbers of dining options located around the hotel as well as our own wonderful restaurants which we hope you will sample on your next stay.

Thanks again and best Regards,

Check-in staff friendly and professional.

Rooms and bathrooms are a little outdated but are a good size. Lovely firm beds and room cleaned to high standard. Coffee and tea station are fine – but it was better before when they had plunger coffee maker.

Breakfast is great – a massive selection. Room service is fine but a little expensive.
Nice pool and gym which is free but they charge for the sauna although to use a shower after the gym you have to use the sauna area ?

Currently they are building a new hotel next door and work starts at 8am 7 days a week – so don’t expect to have a lie in to get rid of that jetlag. Also COEX Shopping Mall below the hotel is renovated – which means there is not much to do in the area.

Been satying here for 10+ years. Its a good business hotel but I would not stay here for pleasure as it is too expensive and far from downtown.

Room Tip: Construction site at the front of the hotel - starts work at 8am 7 days a week. So until mid 2015 avoid from rooms.
