If you are willing to pay for the price then the rooms are nice, the staff is great, and the location is hard to beat. Easily one of the cleanest and best in class hotels in Seoul. There are only a few hotels with the location at this level, but Westin Chosun is one of the best.

I checked very early and my room was not ready but the staff were very accommodating and led me to a place where I could arrange my various items and sent my luggage up to the room while I toured the city. The day I checked out I also left my luggage with them as I was attending a concert and only returned past midnight, no problems getting my luggage at all.
The famous Heavenly Beds of course lived up to expectations as always. I did feel that the club floor was not really worth me paying the extra but only because I didn't spend much time in the hotel to enjoy the privileges.
It's a only a short walk to Myeongdong but not so right in the middle of the action there so you would not be disturbed by the bustle.

The good and the bad about Westin Hotels in Asia is that they are very uniformed. This hotel provides adequate service, and the room is comfortable, clean, albeit on the smaller size.
I had access to the executive lounge, and the breakfast was ample and fit the continental palate well. However, being in Seoul, I had hoped for a taste of Korea at this hotel, no such luck. The server was apologetic and managed to grab a small ramekin of fermented cabbage from the basement restaurant. The surrounding view was beautiful and the shopping at the Lotte complex next door was fantastic.
The hotel is very central, and there is a KAL airport shuttle that stops directly at the front door and heads to ICN in no time. However, be aware that this shuttle stops fairly early and transportation was a bit messy for any delayed flights. There is alternative transportation to this hotel after hours, but make sure your hotel name is written in Korean as many drivers have minimal English skills. It wasn't fun looking for this hotel at midnight, dragging luggage in the snow.
There is a good sauna and gym facility at this hotel. Overall, the Westin Chosun provided a comfortable stay, just nothing memorable.

Room Tip: request high floor facing the pagoda.

We are afraid but many taxi drivers know not as the Westin but as the chosun hotel.
But all our Westin Chosun, Seoul, associates are truly welcoming you back again.

Recently returned from a family get-together trip from South Korea. We stayed at this 'jewel' of a hotel in Seoul and we were very pleased. This hotel was located in the heart of this bustling city, approximately an hour away from Inchon airport. Once there, several shopping, eating, and nightlife activities are just within a quick stroll. A very busy shopping district, called "Myeong-dong", is just a few steps away. We stayed on the 15th floor (club level) and had a nice view of the city (especially at night). If at all possible, upgrade to the "club" level, you won't be disappointed. The food we enjoyed at the club lounge was amazing! They served breakfast, snacks, and hors d'oeuvres. The best meal by far was the luxurious breakfast that included items such as: miso cod,
eggs, bacon/sausage, french toast/pancakes/waffles, seasoned vegetables, local entrees like 'jook'(rice porridge), and various other salads, breads, muffins, etc. I think one of the highlights of our stay was definitely waking up for breakfast time:) Also, this hotel has a complete athletic club that offers such amenities as an indoor pool, sauna(korean spa), workout room-all complete with complimentary bottles of water, towels, lockers - and even their own set of exercise clothing (ie - tshirt, shorts, AND socks!) Another nice feature was their staff- very inviting and service-oriented. From their front desk to the valets, everyone was so helpful and catering to your needs and requests. Their 'English' was pretty good too (and many even looked like Korean drama actors/actresses - maybe this is where they started??- lol :)

So, if you ever get a chance to visit South Korea, and you are looking for one of the nicest, pleasant, and accommodating hotels in the heart of Seoul - consider the Westin Chosun.

We live in Seoul, we know Seoul, and we know about the apparent good reputation of the Westin Chosun. This reputation is unwarranted in the bar department. We went to the Circle Lounge for drinks and quickly realized that though the website advertises live music in the Circle Lounge, the only music to be had came from the ceiling. We confronted the barkeep about this and were met with total ambivalence. Despite this setback we settled down to enjoy a stiff drink, when to our dismay, a couple of tank-top wearing, inappropriately dressed young lads, sat next to us and ordered "mock-tails." What a shame to pay heftily for overpriced drinks and see people dressed for the beach! For the money, go drink at the Lotte Hotel or the Grand Hyatt. I will never return to the Westin Chosun as long as I'm paying.
