“Awesome hotel in Seoul!”

This hotel has a very grand feeling to it. The moment you enter the lobby, you cannot help but be awed by its crystal ceiling decor. The rooms are very spacious and the thing that will catch your attention at once is the huge television in the room and with very good HD channels. The toilet is unique with a warm seat and automatic flush. The bed is so comfortable with soft pillows. But they could improve on the food in the restaurant, though.

I stayed here during three weeks end of 2008. The hotel is just ten minutes' walk from where I needed to go to work everyday. It is located on a small hill. Excellent service, excellent quality. Free afternoon tea when you stay on the business floors. Breakfast choices were large.

My wife and I had International buffet dinner last Wednesday (14 Aug 13) at the Parkview, Shilla in Seoul. For the quality of the food at the price of KR100,000 per person was not worth it. Out of the three assessment elements : Quality, Variety and Taste, The Parkview fared badly in terms of taste. It seemed that food was not well marinated and lacked taste. As for variety, it was not the best. Bread was missing from the buffet menu. As for quality, the couple besides us left within half-an-hour. Apparently, I saw one of them 'smelt' the food on the plate, made some unpleasant facial expression, talked a short while with disappointment, picked their bags and left. Not sure if I was right but seemed that one item was not fresh based on my interpretation of their behaviour. Moreover, the venue was quite warm due to the direct sunset shines. Worse, for the price, you had to choose one of the 2 buffer timing : 5:30pm - 7:30pm or 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

What a wonderful hotel, so clean and quiet. The restraunts were just the best, great American breakfast, the hotel prides itself for a fine bakery. This is mostly a business hotel, and they have meeting rooms for larger groups. Zippy fast internet connections, and the business office takes better messages than my own office. If you need a place to stay for an extended period, this is it. This place is not cheap, is it worth it, not for a short stay.

Hotel Shilla is not one of the best, JUST THE BEST hotel experience you can get in Korea.
Traditional windows and lighting combined with super comfortable bed and friendly staff, what more can you possibly expect?!
Tasty restaurants and oh! try their bakery, it is also superb!
Transportation can be quiet discomfort, since it's kind of above the street level, you can't possibly walk anywhere. But the hotel provides mini bus to central Myungdong and places and you get quiet peace in exchange.
If your not running low on budget and plans to stay in seoul, Hotel Shilla is where you want to be.

The Shilla is a laaaarge hotel.
Massive lobby, lots of floors, section in the basement where you find shopping.
Right next to Shilla is a taxfree megastore that's worth a visit.
Beautifully decorated, service at your fingertips and from floor 4 and up, a magnificent view over Seoul!
The breakfast restaurant will wow you, with everything your heart might desire, in 6 massive sections, freshly pressed juice of all kinds, meat, poultry, fish, fruits, cereals, everything.
Dinner is luxuriously delicious and all around their kitchen they only use fresh, fresh, fresh commodities.

The rooms decor, roomservice, dry cleaning and everything else emanates a luxury only Asia has to offer. Subtle and yet tailored to every need you might have. It's absolutely stunning.
The bathroom is a dream in itself, you'll have to experience when getting there.

Beware that it's a very expensive accommodation, but worth every penny of it!

I can't rave enough about this beautiful hotel, it's rooms, it's cleanliness and high, high standard of service.

Only drawback was that you have to book time ahead in their spa-section. The time-slots fill in quickly, sometimes weeks ahead, so if you need pampering, then order from home.

All in all; pampering in the most beautiful surroundings that give a beautiful break from the cramped, hectic feel of Seoul.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking Seoul. When you get up in the morning, you'll know why. Breathtaking view...
