The Shilla is one of those unique hotels that has all the elements of a 5 6 and 7 star city hotel working to its advantage. It is traditional in its facade and design but inside it is completely contemporary modern and well appointed. I stayed for 4 nights and didn't want to leave the business trip. It was located on top of a hill and was central to all points of interest. Just like the lobby, the rooms were outstanding and well maintained and reflected the korean culture yet replete with modern amenities. From the time you enter til the time you leave, the Shilla's sublime style and ambience will be one of the most unforgettable hotel experiences one will ever have.

Went there on a business trip
Great hotel in a tranquil setting,Friendly staff, buffet breakfast options limited but of excellent quality, nice big rooms with great toiletries , shuttle bus to downtown, close to the night markets; good conference facilities, state of the art LCD displays on huge flat screens- this the home of Samsung after all !

Stayed two weeks in this hotel on a business trip in 2009.
It is expensive, but very recommended. Koreans are very polite in general, but in this hotel it is extreme .
Nice hotel, nice gym, nice bar (Rainbow, life music Fridays etc), there is golf course near by, nice sauna .
Awesome breakfast – very European (after one week you will miss it) , fresh salmon, sausages .
It is a very, very nice hotel .

Hotel with it's own territory on a hill. Close to subway station (down the stairs and cross the street), plus all cab drivers knew the place. Had a corner number on one of upper floors. Spacious room with all the necessary amenities. Lot's of helpful staff will walk you right where you want. All the business papers available in the morning. Breakfast is exceptional - from European to local cuisine. Will definitely stay again.

I've stayed here before when in Seoul on business and the hotel has a lot going for it.

The location is excellent being in the centre of town and the hotel itself is well maintained, very clean and smart, As are the rooms, but they are a little on the small side. The staff could not do more for you and the breakfast is one of the best in Asia,

However, the hotel is very expensive and in terms of value for money there are other hotels in Seoul that offer the same level for less money
