The Best

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Dec 2, 2012
By now you must have seen my other reviews from my November trip to Seoul. This hotel was my number 6 hotel in the 10 days that I was there. I did this to see who had the best deal and I had loads of miles on my credit cards. I have been flying to Seoul since 2006 for business. By far this hotel is the best deal. They finally started to renovate the rooms. Must say great job!! I had a room with the view of the river and the Buddest Temple on the 19th floor. They also made changes to the hallways. It makes you feel like you are in a brand new hotel. The service here always has been top notch. I needed to be taken to the hospital a few years back on a Sunday night. The night manager took me in a cab and rushed me to the doctor. Try not to get sick on Sundays in Korea, all the good doctors take the day off. The hotel is also connected to the casino from the second floor. The breakfast in the casino is the best deal. For coffee Illy Coffee accross the street upstairs is the best on the corner. The department store down the street is the best for western style dinners. Accross the street form the Casino there is an Isakaya. By far the best in Seoul. The owner is from Japan. He trys to stay true to the original style. The Asahi beer here is cold off tap. Hard to find really cold tap beer in Korea. If you are over 30 and want to have a drink in a nice bar, try the Bikini Bar down the street from the Isakaya. Moderate price and the crowd is good.

I stayed in a club room, which was a great size. It also allowed access to the club lounge. There was a good breakfast selection there. Also I could use the lounge throughout the day, getting hot or cold drinks and there was always a few snacks to go with it. In the evening there was a good selection of alcohol available and other hot and cold snacks, which were really good.

The cost of the rooms are quite expensive, but comparable to other similar hotels. The value is quite good when you factor in the club lounge facilities which made it more reasonable. As club lounges go, I thought it was very good.

What I really liked about the hotel was its location. Some have said that it's not really suitable for tourists, I disagree. As Seoul is such a big city, you are never going to be next door to all the tourist spots. Also the subway station is a short walk away. This can get you to anywhere in Seoul quite quickly. The coex mall is attached to the hotel, which has some great shopping and eating places. Would definitely use this hotel again.

I was here on a 2d1n business trip and I was picked up by the hotel limousine from the airport. The 1-hour ride was long but extremely comfortable. Check-in was a breeze and I was greeted many times by the staff from the doorman to the concierge to people just standing around to offer help to guests.

The room was beautiful with a modern design. There was also an iPhone for guests and it can be taken out of the hotel room for use when shopping or travelling.

I needed help with directions so they were helped write down instructions to various shopping areas in Korean so that I can show the taxi drivers. There is also an underground shopping mall that connect Coex to the nearest train station that was about 10 mins walk away.

A beautiful hotel, great service.... too bad I didn't have time to explore the various facilities.

Wished I could stay longer.

Nice hotel with very helpful concierge who went all out to print out the map in korean so that the taxi driver could understand, and patiently answering all our queries.
Lotte duty free was just downstairs. Awesome buys for beauty products from Face shop and Nature republic. Additional 15% discount if you pay with a visa platinum card.
Just a pity that the hotel is far from most tourist attractions. Takes almost an hour by subway to the attractions at the northern bank of Han river

Good hotel for business, although the high Internet charge is not very business friendly.
Rooms are comfy and the staff are friendly and helpful.
I didn't eat here so can't comment on the restaurants or room service

I stayed for one night at the end of a business trip to Seoul and found the standard of service at the hotel to be excellent. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the breakfast buffet was right up there for quality. The hotel is located close to many attractions and there is a large shopping mall under the hotel with excellent shopping and entertainment options.
