“small but sufficient for our needs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

The hotel is easily accessible from the airport (one bus ride away) but we unfortunately missed our stop and had difficulty finding it at first. Thanks to a local couple who went out of their way to bring us to the hotel (most Koreans will actually help you with directions!), we found it soon enough and they hotel management was kind enough to allow us to check into our room before the check-in time.

The room is relatively tiny but it had all the amenities we needed - there's wifi in all the rooms and a desktop computer which allowed us to plan our routes more easily. All the expected amenities were there as well, and little things like the heated floors and drinks that were replaced daily, made this budget hotel even a bigger deal. Don't expect much from the free breakfast, though. They have a small corner in the lobby where you can make your own instant noodles, butter and jam for sandwiches, dry cereal and milk, and fruit. Still, it was sufficient for us till we could get something more substantial during our tours.

The hotel is walking distance from the subway station and the airport bus stop. There's a starbucks nearby, as well as a Lotteria (which has yummy, yummy mozarella cheese sticks!) where you can get a quick bite in between shopping trips and city tours. The front desk staff is always willing to assist you with all of your needs - they quickly replaced the light in the bathroom which conked out on our second day, lent us adaptors for our phone charges, and gave us directions to places we wanted to visit.

All in all, i wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel to friends and family who'd want an afforadble place to stay in at Seoul.

Room Tip: The triple sharing room is quite tiny, and has a double bed and a single bed. So if you're a gro...

Stayed there from 20-28th
Its a really good experience staying in GS hotel
Staff allows me to check in earlier as I reach one flight ahead of my friends
This hotel is really value for money!!!
4 of us really love the bed as it is very soft, wooden flooring is heated as the temperature is very low during my stay.
Hotel staff are all very helpful and friendly, they gave my friends a cake when they learned that he propose to his girlfriend, and delicious gimbap for me and another friend.

Outside the hotel along the main road, there is a few 'red stall' which opens in the night serves really great food! In my picture you can see this particular red stall, her food is the best out of the rest of the stalls. Remember her face in my picture! and stall number !!

Room beverages are free and they provide very good shampoos and conditioner, furthermore they provide BB cream, moisturizer, make up remover which normally wouldn't found in other hotels.

And I just love the jacuzzi in my room!

Love this hotel to the max!!!!

Stayed with my family from April 7 to 13, 2013.
We were very happy with the room we got. It was clean, always made up and the size just right for a small family of four.
The front desk guys were very attentive, helpful and thoughtful. Small gestures like making sure we had bottles of water when we went out and handing us small samplings of Korean goodies after a tiring day of exploring the city. Will definitely recommend to fellow visitors to Seoul.

Stayed from 14th to 17th April, 2013. The location is just great for sight seeing. Centrally located and near Jongno-3 Ga subway station. Lots of food stalls and restaurants around. Palaces and Hanchok village are reachable by walking. Same as Myeongdong. Room are bigger than Doulus Hotel nearby. FREE in wifi in rooms and lobby, and very fast too. Free breakfast at the lobby, but very simple one including cup noodles, bread, oranges and corn flakes only.
Would definitely recommend to travelers who wish to stay in Jongno area. If you're planning to move around during the day and just have a nice room to sleep, this hotel is good enough for you.

We stayed in room 102 on the first floor, with 3 double beds and 6 people. Double beds were super comfy! The entire room was spotless. We received fresh towels and water each day. The bathroom had two showers which was awesome for those who were couples, making the getting ready process that much easier each day. The toilet seat was heated! As were the floors.
There was a large jacuzzi tub in the room as well as a tv and computer (but it was difficult to use).
Breakfast was provided each day including coffee, tea, oranges and bananas, bread, jam and noodles if you wanted.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were allowed to leave our luggage after check out until we left. Great location just off Jongno road. Short walk to metro.

First of all, me and my family got lost finding this hotel because we don't have a proper map for the place... BUT, in reality it is located near the Jongno 3 train station; 3 mins walk from the hotel. There's starbucks near the hotel as well. Famous palaces and temples are only 2 to 3 stations away, some you can go there by walking (if you are up to walking like 2 blocks). You can walk to Insadong from the hotel and along the way there are shops, boutiques, fast food chains (for those who like to go back to burgers, there's Burger King and KFC) etc...

We got a twin room and it is very CLEAN..

They have the following perks inside our room... (^_^)
- Hangers 2 pcs
- Heater and Airconditioner
- Desktop computer for every room (Cool huh...)
- WiFi for every room as well (super fast connectivity..)
- The usual bathroom vanity set
- Mini fridge with free coffee, tea, canned juice, 2 bottles of h20
- Large flat screen LG Tv
- The toilet itself is HIGH-TECH! I mean it has the usual flush but with Add-ons. It's kinda hard to explain but they have a butt dryer and sprinklers for ummm down there... Not the usual sprinkler with a hose...

They do provide breakfast, but don't expect a rice meal or sandwiches.. They do have cereals, cup noodles, juice, coffee, bread with toaster, butter, jam, fruits and cookies..

The down side is that the room is kinda small... So I suggest for each traveler just bring ONE medium sized luggage because there's not much room for those huge and bulky ones...

So far that's all I can say... Ciao!

Room Tip: They do have a room for 4 persons so better book early to save money and provide yourselves a map be...

We were extremely happy with our stay at the Gs Hotel.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were very welcoming and professional.

One of the men that works there came and met our taxi outside to help us in - it was great service.

The staff was so warm and welcoming that we felt right at home.

The rooms are quite comfortable. The beds are nice and the floors heated. The flatscreen TV is huge and there is also a computer in the room. The wifi works like a charm and there is all the toiletries you need there provided (moisturiser, hair gel, shampoo, body wash etc).

The location is great - you can get to and from the airport easily on the bus and walk to many nice places from there.

Plus, they stored our luggage for us while we were away -so kind.

The only bad thing was how sad it was to have to leave.

Our goodbye was a wonderful surprise for my mother with whom I was traveling. She is claustophobic and the staff have her Lavender oil that since has calmed her and made all the difference.

We highly recommend this hotel not only for the wonderful experience we had there but because it is well located, the comfortable rooms, the cleanliness and where you always have water and juices in your room - making it that much more comfortable and homey.

Thank you to the entire staff and we will see you again in Seoul!!
