“Get a leather jacket or leather boots made to fit!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

I have been to Itaewon on a number of occasions as I lived in Korea for 5 years. However the last time I was there was in 2008.

It is a great place to get tailor made clothes! Especially handmade leather jackets in the same design as the big fashion houses! Also cheap in comparison to what you would pay for a designer one... I don't know if the Hard Rock Cafe is still open but it was nice to go to for a meal and a drink... There are also a few lovely roof top restaurants hidden away.

“I used to live here”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

I used to live in Itaewon and really appreciated how different it is from other areas of Seoul. I returned on a recent visit and noticed a lot of changes. There are now even more eating and shopping choices here, and if you're really into shopping, you may spend a few hours in this part of the city. It's a very international section of Seoul, and it caters primarily to a Western audience.

“Great for shopping”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

If your looking for some great souvenirs at cheap prices visit Itaewon. Lots of shops and restaurants. Cheap tailored suits also, however I didn't purchase one. Seoul City Tour bus stop # 10.

“Itaewon”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Itaewon is a very touristy part of Seoul. There are many vendors that sell tacky Korean souvenirs. But there are a few stores that are very good, like Eden Pottery. There are numerous restaurants that are non-Korean; pubs, Italian, Greek, etc. Worth the trip, but it is what it is.........

“Give it a skip”
Reviewed April 24, 2012 via mobile

Unless you have unlimited time, don't bother with itaewon. It is very westernized with knockoff products and items you can buy in the U.S. it hasn't been a bargain shopping spot for a long time. There are a few notable exceptions. The international food eateries behind the Hamilton Hotel include some great places to eat, and are worth the trip. But for exploring the city, go to the real markets, Insadong, or many other places in Seoul!
