I went since it was number one Korean restaurant on timeout... well, I just saw a "pay upfront" simple place with not too tasty "soup"...maybe for locals it is something special, I could feel that special thing.

Was recommended to this place by someone and had high hopes and expectation. However, to my great disappointment, the reception we got was super bad. Attitude of cashier (maybe the owner) was very hostile. Spent more time on the phone than taking our order. Moreover, this place is quite rundown. Hope of anything good went down then drain when our food was served. Portion very small. Just a few pathetic slices of meat, and some rice in soup. For USD12.00, it's extremely overpriced. Soup was not hot as well. An experience definitely to be forgotten and to warn future hopeful to avoid his place altogether.

I had a special Gomtang for 20,000 won (it is a high price. Having said it, I cannot figure out the food prices of Seoul restaurants: Most popular restaurants are laughably expensive for their quality of foods, and yet you can find a lot of extremely reasonable restaurants), It was my first visit since it was relocated to Myungdong, and was about 12-13 years since I visited this restaurant. I frequented this restaurant in the 1980s when I was at college and then working. It was affordable at the time. The taste seems to have unchanged. However, I have felt that the size of the bowl has shrunken, and that it is no longer a great value for the price. The server used to go around with a big pot with Gak Du Gi Guk Mool. I just saw a crowded and somewhat expensive restaurant. I missed the warmth of the old restaurant. I regretted having gone out of my way to visit this restaurant of my old love which suddenly felt like something I never knew, and started missing other restaurants, such as Buk Ut Gug Jip around the Seoul City Hall, which were striving to keep their first love with their clients: the same taste and the same generosity. My old love seems to be over with this restaurant which seems to have gone too high.

This place has the BEST soup in Seoul and I'm Korean so I've been to a lot of soup places. It comes out bland, and it's supposed to because you add your own condiments. The old grandmas are super nice and the food comes out in 5 minutes. This place is a must if you like Korean meat soups!

it's one of the place where they come and yell, oldies goodies. it's been so many years the place have been selling this one particular menu but the reputation is going higher and higher by the year. like i said they sell only one menu. which comes with soup with white rice in it. if you are near by you should better get it line for this.
