I had a special Gomtang for 20,000 won (it is a high price. Having said it, I cannot figure out the food prices of Seoul restaurants: Most popular restaurants are laughably expensive for their quality of foods, and yet you can find a lot of extremely reasonable restaurants), It was my first visit since it was relocated to Myungdong, and was about 12-13 years since I visited this restaurant. I frequented this restaurant in the 1980s when I was at college and then working. It was affordable at the time. The taste seems to have unchanged. However, I have felt that the size of the bowl has shrunken, and that it is no longer a great value for the price. The server used to go around with a big pot with Gak Du Gi Guk Mool. I just saw a crowded and somewhat expensive restaurant. I missed the warmth of the old restaurant. I regretted having gone out of my way to visit this restaurant of my old love which suddenly felt like something I never knew, and started missing other restaurants, such as Buk Ut Gug Jip around the Seoul City Hall, which were striving to keep their first love with their clients: the same taste and the same generosity. My old love seems to be over with this restaurant which seems to have gone too high.
