Hotel Skypark Myeongdong I
Ranked #83 of 505 Hotels in Seoul

Clean, no frills and friendly place, spoiled by poor ventilation, which turns its cube rooms into mini saunas. The hotel website (which Trip Advisor won't allow contributors to add in, but search the name) gives excellent directions to the hotel. Check-in, lounge and a small continental breakfast restaurant are on 11/F. Breakfast is reasonable at W11,000. The good; location can't be bettered for the main Seoul sights, shopping and selection of local restaurants, neatly designed cube rooms, an abundance of power points for recharging electrical items. Not so good; limited hanging space, poor ventilation makes inner core rooms very hot. Guest floors have two "layers" of cube rooms; the outer rooms can get natural light and ventilation from outside opening windows, while the inner rooms have no natural light or ventilation. All the rooms seem to suffer from the same problem in winter months, when management disable individual room air-conditioning and turn on the heating. This makes the inner rooms very hot, and the best that management can offer is a standing fan in the room, which doesn't really help. Outside temperature minus 3c, inside temperature close to 30c.

Room Tip: A room with an outside window for natural ventilation

You would have read enough reviews about this hotel being in the most busiest shopping district of Seoul, that is every bit true...but more! It's easy to find, lobby is located on the top floor (10th), check in very smooth, twin room a little small but clean and functional. Comfortable bed and pillows and great bathroom facilities. They were doing promotion with some Korean cosmetic house, so they gave us free mask sheets and some skincare product samples inside our room. I really couldn't fund much to fault, perhaps the sound proof could have been better. Other than that, it's a great hotel at a good location still manage to remain reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Rooms far away from lifts are quieter

We really really appreciated it when we turned up with lots of baggage (snowboards) & were given a free upgrade to a big room so we could fit all of our bags in comfortably. The staff spoke great English & we booked our tour to the dmz through them - very helpful. Great location, fast WiFi, easy to get to, spotlessly clean & comfy beds. Thank you!

The hotel situated at a very happening place where we can feel the vibrant the moment we stepped out of the hotel. Never get bore everyday spend time here! Airport shuttle bus cost 10,000 single trip is just 13 min away which located at Sejong Hotel. It runs 25 min interval. It's so convenient for people like us who like to travel with free and easy! And also the subway line 4 is well connected with state buses to reach Jisan ski resort in just 2 hours time, much more cheaper then agency would charge.

For us location is important despite room awfully small but what the heck the location is superb! May choose this hotel again for next spring holidays, or opposite the Sayor Hotel.

Room Tip: As long room comes with a window facing the shopping area.

Reserved this hotel for a 24 hour layover in Seoul . The shuttle arrived promptly bad 12 hours later returned us to the airport as needed. The rooms are clean and the shower was large with lots of hot water. We didn't come for site seeing so I can't comment on the location for that but if you want a clean, quiet hotel for a layover, Sky Hotel is it!

SkyPark Myeongdong 1 is situated right in Myeongdong Shopping area so its great! However the room was disappointing. We checked in a 2 single bed room and its so small! there was barely enough space for us to put our luggages. the beds were almost touching side by side due to space constraints. Its really difficult when trying to pack your luggage.

The 1st room we were checked into, the bathroom wall tiles kind of popped out at the bathtub side. And cement keeps dripping down, quite disgusting. Requested for change of room, and even though we were told all the rooms are of same size, it is definitely smaller!

They serve the same hotel breakfast everyday of sausages, canned soup, 2 choices of cereal, milk and orange juice, a few choices of bread and a salad corner.

The hotel staffs can understand limited english but are not very helpful. I would advise to do whatever research you need before going to Korea if you intend to stay here, even when i asked they were like you can use the pay phone to call up and ask, or you can choose the brochures there and see yourself.

Overall, other than the great location, there is nothing much i can praise.

Room Tip: Photos look better than actual!

I was with my family... 5 adults, one child. We booked two rooms, one standard double and one twin deluxe. This hotel has small rooms compared to other hotels I stayed in. The standard double hardly had any room to park luggages. The deluxe twin was better but is still smaller compared to rooms of the same category in other hotels. If one is expecting all hotel amenities, they might be in for a disappointment because skypark I is better than a guesthouse but a bit lacking as a hotel.

But! And that is a BIG BUT, this isn't a bad review. Skypark I was surprisingly cozy despite the size. Location's tops! Service particularly front desk although very professional, initially seemed cold and unfriendly. But it became warm and responsive to guests needs as days passed. They speak english well too.

Over-all experience with the hotel was pleasant. I think I would book it again.

Oh! And I soooo lllooooveee the convenience of the electronic toilet seat! So very appreciated when its so darn cold anywhere in Seoul even at just the onset of winter.

Room Tip: I'd say pick the deluxe twin room and request for a view.
