We stayed 2 nigths at Tea Tree Hotel which is in the middle of the very trendy Sinsa-Dong area, on Ga Ro Su Gil, which means tree-lined street. This street in Kangnam (South of river) area has nonstop fashion stores for men and women, accessories, bag, stationery stores and coffee shops, many blocks long. Streets are full of young people all fashionably dressed, so far in our many Seoul trips, Sinsa-Dong is the best dressed area with most beautiful women.
On the side streets there are hundreds of restaurants, most are, as the stores, very modernly designed and busy with young people. We normally do not shop when traveling, especially not in cloth shops, but we spent many hours shopping in all the stores, all original, unique high quality designs and materials, even backpacks are excellent designs we have not seen anywhere else. Mid price range for younger people.
We had fun people watching on the street and sitting in one of the many side walk coffee shops watching the people going by. So far, this is one place I have seen most beautiful Korean women.
The hotel itself is a French chateau style 5 storied building with a very busy Nescafe coffee shop on the ground floor. Breakfast is served here, very light meal with limited set items. Room is fairly large, ours has a jaquzzi in the small private courtyard. There is no closet nor drawer in the room. Garage in the basement and on ground floor, no bell boy service, front desk is friendly. Shower is not enclosed so water gets on the bathroom floor. Only 4-5 rooms on the 5th floor. Bed is hard.
All things considered, we are very glad we spent 2 days here, truly fun experience to live right in Sinsa-Dong, the only hotel in this hot trendy area, it is like living in a shopping center. Highly recommended.
