“Ssamzie-gil: The Temple of Cute”

Whenever I think of going back to Seoul I tell myself, I have to go back to Insadong so I can shop at Ssamzie-gil. It's a building full of stores selling (what to me seemed like) Korean stuff -- bags, toys, music boxes, stationery and clothing items. I get why the guidebooks mention it -- you can find a lot of cute things here; I have never seen so many cute things in one place. The place itself has character, too -- an atrium, with ramps for going up or down. There are stairs, too, if you realize you should have bought that thing you saw downstairs.

Look for Moony Orgel for ceramic music boxes -- you pick the song, the shape and print of the box, and the key to wind it. Drama themes, Korean, Chinese and English songs -- they have a lot. Such a precious souvenir!

People who hate crowds, or are looking to buy stuff at low cost might not like it here.

Don't leave Insadong without dropping by.

As the walkway spirals up, you will find various shops with trendy clothing and accessories along with some traditional Korean tea goods. There is also some food stands and tasty tea to be had. The coffee shop up top that would likely give you a good place to people watch.

I went there 2 day in rows for shopping and visited a new avenue for many couples who came for hanging their love note on the top of this building. There's three floors of the Ssamziegil area you can explore and the best place in Insadong to find goods made by Korea's artists and one of the most comprehensive arts showcases on the walls of buildings around area.

Look out for the small annex of the building, right side. There are still good stuff there plus they're more affordable than the ones inside.
Also, worth visiting are th "booth" beside the stairs or elevator. Enjoy!!!

There are a lot of different trendy items in this shopping mall. They are items that you cannot seem to find in other part of Seoul.
The set up of the different floors are attractive too!
