This is a small boutique business hotel in a good location in the south part of Seoul.

Rooms are very beautiful, with modern design, very good facilities, full toiletries, fast internet (wired) and even with a PC in the room. Staff is very discrete (as everywhere in Korea) efficient and that's all.

The hotel has no restaurant (actually it has a small area set up as a cafe-restaurant but there is no food served) and that means that there is no breakfast but just 50 meters in the other side of the road there is a nice coffee shop with a variety of toasts, sandwiches, coffee and tea.

The neighborhood is full of restaurants for lunch and dinner and many bars and the hotel is a 7 minutes walk to the underground station (line 2).

If you don't mind the absence of breakfast/restaurant/bar then it is recommended.

If you're looking for a modestly priced, small boutique hotel in Gangnam, the business district of Seoul, Hotel Tria is the answer. I stayed there for about 10 days in April 2010 and found it a safe, friendly and convenient spot for getting around the city.

Granted, the decor is a bit different once you get beyond the striking lobby. My room, with its concrete walls, resembled a tastefully decorated bunker. I loved it! In addition to beautiful wood grain furnishings, the room included a fridge, computer and hook up to the Internet. The bathroom was lovely with a waterfall type shower and toilet with a multitude of controls.

Tria is located steps away from the Yeoksam subway station on Teheranro. There are lots of good restaurants, coffee shops, pastry shops and convenience stores on the narrow little side streets that surround it. To get to the airport you need only walk a block or so to the Renaissance Hotel to catch the shuttle bus.

According to the manager, Tria will soon have its own restaurant. However, I didn't feel deprived by having to walk around the neighbourhood in search of something to eat.
To find Tria, pass the Renaissance Hotel on Teheranro on your right (you will be moving away from the Coex Mall). On the end of the next block, look for the Bang Bang Plaza. Turn up the narrow street beside the Plaza (keeping a sharp eye out for motorcycle couriers). Walk about a block and look for Tria on the right hand side. It's the building with its own enclosed driveway/courtyard.
