“not fantastic, anyway nice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

I spent a couple of night here.
I was alone on a business trip, so my room with double bed was enough for me even if not enormous.
Place is tidy, bed confortable.
Bathroom designed for short people; sink is stylish but very small (and almost blocked) but above all, mind you head under the shower as water jet is installed quite low.
I wasn't able to set the "smart" toilet bowl, control panel has only labels in Korean language.
Hotel is close to a tourist area, there's plenty of restaurants and bars.
Also bus stop for the airport is very close.
When travelling for business, take in account that rates are not flexible, I wasn't able to get a discount even if I made a very late check-in.
Reservation was difficult as some person of the staff speaks a poor English.

Its a trendy boutique hotel but not too expensive. It is also located near many tourist areas so even if we mostly took the cab to most of the places we went to, fares still was not expensive. It is also ideal for people who wants to take the airport bus because it is located right in front of an airport bus stop. Overall, good value for money. Would not think twice about staying here again when i go back to seoul.

I stayed here for 10 days and thought it was a really unique and a good value.
First, the positives:
1) Trendy cute hotel with nice comfortable rooms. THey bed was very plush and the room, although small, had all I needed.
2) Great value, I think I paid $100 a night and got a nice free breakfast.
3) Great location in Itaewon, which has a lot of great restaurants (Korean and foreign) and fun shopping.
4) Right next to the metro, it is about 3 blocks away and an easy walk.
5) Hotel was bright and trendy with unique paintings and decorations.
But there were a few negatives:
1) The gym was not good, it was small and I could never get the treadmill to work. If you like to workout on your trip, this is not the place.
2) As others mentioned, the hallways were very dark. It did not particularly bother me but was unusual.
3) AC was not too strong. I like to keep my room cool but I could not get temp below around 73 degrees.
But overall I really thought this was a great place and a great value. I had friends on the same business trip staying at other grander hotels but they paid 3 times the price. So I would definitely go with the IP Botique again. And you can't beat the location.

Room Tip: I had a higher up room (8th floor) and had no issues with noise.

We've stayed here this August for the second time and we were not disappointed. This hotel is perfectly situated on the main Itaewon shopping street without being caught in the noisy, overly busy are where the Hamilton hotel is. You can manage to have a good night's sleep and no be disturbed. You're no more than 15 minutes by walking away from pretty much the essential places in Itaewon.

We had the penthouse suite at first (complimentary upgrade without even asking for it!) and during the last stay, the deluxe King, both room were clean and comfortable. The staff we always friendly and managed to do anything we asked of them.

The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast buffet. It was actually quite disappointing especially for the price you're paying. We opted to go out to the numerous breakfast/brunch places around the hotel for more value. In fact, when I'm there the next time, I'd rather go to the Grand Hyatt and have breakfast there!

The hotel is about 15 minutes by taxi from Yongsan station and it is on the hotel bus route from Incheon as well. All in all a good hotel in a great location. We would definitely recommend it.

If you are looking for something a little different this is it, swings in the foyer, a giant chair and lifts that look like you are walking into a locker, the rooms are very comfy with glass walls for the bathroom, our room was looking like its ready for a refurbish but still very likeable, the restaurant overlooks the busy street, the food is very good and reasonable prices also the service is great. The front desk staff are very friendly and english speaking and eager to help, the area is a shoppers paradise and plenty of really good coffee shops and restaurants. .

Room Tip: Check out the back streets there is so much more to see.

I stayed here for pleasure on a short trip to Korea to visit friends. The hotel has quite a dramatic entrance area and is quite 'flashy' in this respect. The hall ways to the rooms were pitch black and made it quite difficult to see your footing. The rooms themselves were well apportioned and the bathroom and shower area were fantastic. I will say that the bed was incredibly comfortable and the view was excellent. However, the cost was higher than I would normally pay, particularly since it is not part of a 'chain' such as Accor and as such will probably not return.

Well located with SAmsung art gallery nearby with bountiful choices for f&b. Nice fun concept but not as refined in decor as 5 star deluxe. The dark corridor leading to rooms is totally ridiculous I felt unsafe....I mean its pitch black. ..a concept which got too carried away. The room is bright and cheerful. Not much personal service or boutique touch when it comes down to service. Breakfast reasonably good. Concierge recommended maple tree restaurant for Korean bbq. Excellent. Overall good hotel for the young and hip.
