“Unique hostel and friendly staff”
Reviewed July 18, 2011

Stayed at Backpackers Inside last May and opt for the 4-bed deluxe ensuite. It's in another building, in a traditional style structure called a hanok and had a patio. Awesome area as there are lots of cheap places to eat ie: the Cozy Grill, where we had bbq and close to a major tourist site. It was noisy at night as the doors were made out of paper and the guests across from us stayed up late, talking loudly and left the light on in the living room til the wee hours of the morning. It's not the staff's fault really. Overall, would stay here again.

-Stayed in a deluxe single - INSIDE at home (ensuite included).
-5-10 minutes walk from Hyehwa Station.
-Hostel located on side street off a busy main road, quite dark at night time but never had any problems.
-PLENTY of delicious restaurants and food stalls nearby.
-Free use of washing machine and washing powder.
-Need to bring clothes to main building to use dryer - 1000W for 10 minutes, 2000W for 20 minutes etc. Drying rack can be used but during my stay was always used by others.
-Facilities inside the room include: gas cooker, sink, fridge, hairdryer, air-con, table, chair, cooking utensils, microwave, kettle, computer, TV.
-Plenty of hot water for shower.
-Outside the bedroom in the main hall, water machine - good for refilling bottles, mainly tourist leaflets as well on the bookshelf.
-Had no problems whatsoever during my stay and never needed to go to the main building for any complaints.
-Single room has one small window - no sunlight, however did not matter to me.
-Would definitely recommend others to use this hostel, very friendly staff, very good price, located on a convenient train line, plenty of shops to eat and visit, while it is not hotel standard cleanliness, it definitely has a "home" feeling to this place. I would definitely use this place again!

Thanks Min Yong and friendly sister for such a warm hospitality. I like how you decorate the place with photos of your backpacking adventures. motivates you to backpack for life.If you happen to want to open backpacking place in Malaysia, let me know.

Surely you got a fantastic place that attracts a fantastic crowd. I think you have done a very good job in setting up the place knowing exactly what a budget traveler wants.
24 hour korean food with reasonable price, subway and busses on walking distance, proximity to a busy street with things to do, comfy inhouse facilities and last but not least friendly staff and house mates. Matthew and gf all the best.

If you are looking for a very comfortable & economic option in Seoul, Backpackers Inside will
suit you so well. There are two buildings - the main one houses the hostel-type accomodation, lounge (where you can mingle with folks from all over), kitchen, etc. and the other just one alley up houses the private ensuites, which I had. Although the studio w/ bath was small, it included a PC/TV, small table & chair, A/C, and kitchenette with
fridge. There was a water machine and coffee/drinks available right outside as courtesy. Laundry machines, Wi-Fi and all sorts of maps/guidebooks are available. Its a very clean, comfortable facility with an extreme friendly & helpful staff. They answered all the questions I had with such politeness. The location is great too - just 5 minutes from Hyehwa subway station, and in the heart of Daehagno, jam-packed with cafe's, convenience stores, eateries and entertainment. You can walk to sites such as Changdeokgung/Changgyeonggung/Jongmyo within 10 minutes. The airport bus stop is just a few minutes away. from Hyehwa subway station, and in the heart of Daehagno, jam-packed with cafe's, convenience stores, eateries and entertainment. You can walk to sites such as Changdeokgung/Changgyeonggung/Jongmyo within 10 minutes. The airport
bus stop is just a few minutes away. This one's a winner!

I had stayed at this hostel for three times and will be looking at staying there again.

Excellent location, value for money and easy access to very near to subway. Even Apt bus stop near the Hostel.

Not to mention Min, the owner very friendly and helpful. As even give us directions and assist us, a very friendly and nice chap!

Unlimited access to wi-fi. Rooms are very clean and daily there will be someone to clean the palce.

Have once monthly bbq to interact with other people from all over the world.

Best choice and no regrets!

Min & Crew are excellent. No language barrier at all. Easy to converse in English.
Very fast in solving any problems we had and very helpful indeed. They are fast in answering your questions too. Location wise is good as it very near to the train station and many eateries nearby so you wont go hungry! Also there are many shops for you to shop around. Its like a mini Myeongdong,
Walk around the area and you can chance upon Naksan Park, if you are into arts, its an arts haven and if im not wrong there is even a palace nearby.
Though it was super duper cold in Korea now,I do not feel cold at all in the room as it has heater in the room.
Only downside is they should have better pillows. heheee...
Highly recommend Backpackers Inside to those who are on a budget travel. Have already recommended to my friends who will be visiting Seoul.
Would be back again soon.
