Seoul Tower Ville (STV) is a good place to stay especially on a budget. This place is near the Myeongdong shopping district, so you're bound to end your day shopping or enjoying street food nearby. Arrival from and departure to the airport is hassle-free since STV offers car pick-up from the Sejong Hotel airport bus stop. No need to flag a cab and load all your luggage in the trunk by yourself. Just a little obstacle on contacting and informing the owner (Mr. Ko) that you have arrived. We were quite lucky to get our room before check-in time, since the room was vacant early morning when we arrived.
The room was very spacious (we were three in a room) and we got 3 single beds. And the room had lots of hangers for our clothes, though we have to improvise when we ran out of places to hang them, and we find it awkward hanging them by the balcony for everyone to see from outside. The kitchen was also a plus (stove, pots, fridge, utensils, instant coffee, water dispenser), because it allowed us to cook breakfast and reheat leftovers. There was also a washing machine, but we didn't bother using it as we never understood how it worked. Internet was also fast (thru LAN cable).
The only downside is the very steep way up if we go by foot (coming from Pacific Hotel). It's about 60 steps from below...Seoul Tower Ville (STV) is a good place to stay especially on a budget. The only downside is the very steep way up if we go by foot (coming from Pacific Hotel). It's about 60 steps from below up to the ground floor, and more flights of stairs up to the room (we stayed on the 3rd floor). Another option is to take a cab and take the road near the Animation Studios. Be sure to take note of where you get off when the cab goes uphill (some cabs speed up and you get past your drop-off point).
Departure to the airport was hassle-free as well, since we just have to bring down our luggage to the lobby and meet up at an agreed time at the Sejong Hotel airport bus stop (more time to roam around Seoul luggage-free). Mr. Ko will bring your luggage there and will wait until the bus arrives. That's how they take care of their guests, and we hope others will do the same.More
