“Great stay in Seoul!”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

I had never stayed at a Lotte Hotel before. I was able to book a great room for a very reasonable price. It's very easy to access it from Inchon Airport just taking a single bus or train.

The Hotel basement is connected to multiple lines in the Subway Station which makes it perfect to go anywhere in the city with a relatively short commute.

The room is nice with comfortable beds and nice bathroom with plenty of amenities. Helpful staff. I definitely recommend it

My review is partially affected by the fact that I had just flown in from a third world country and was so excited for a clean place and a good shower. However, I have stayed in lots on nice hotels for work and this one was one of the best. It was super clean, we'll designed, had an amazing shower, and the staff was so courteous. It's very convenient from the airport - no transfers using the subway (longer than the express but worth it) and take exit (can't quite remember if it's 10, 11, or 12) but head that direction and you'll see a street map for the right exit out of the subway. Basically you'll end up in the basement of the hotel which is nice in the winter. I also loved the grocery store and restaurants in the basement which is nice when traveling and super convenient.

Easy access via Subway from Incheon Airport. From Incheon airport, go to basement and take subway on air rail road, not the airport express (1400 won non stop train but only 10-15min faster), it cheap, only cost 3450 won. make sure you buy the T-money card from convenience store before the gate and the not at the station gate counter.

Alight at Gongdeok, 1 station before Seoul station, that why taking express station is not so useful, you will need to take transfer train back to Gongdeok.

find you way out from this station and follow exit sign 1-8., then tale exit no.2 you will reach the B1 of the Lotte CIty Mapo. you will be able to find signboard to guide you to hotel front desk at level 2.

B1 is the Lotte super market too, few restaurant at B1 and B2. price is only slightly higher than those food street diagonally opposite hotel (5 to 10 min walk).

Room is clean, well equip with toiletry include shaver, body lotion.

Hotel is qutie, good sleep. no noise from outside.

If you need stay in shopping area, Myeongdong hotel like Nine tree, Jhill, Skypark 1, Savoy etc are better choices, they are right in the middle of the shopping area and restaurants. alight at Myeongdong subway station exit 8 and Nine tree is the nearest hotel. It maybe noisy there.

Room Tip: if you can, ask for room facing city view. my room for triple is facing the church at the back not m...

I chose this hotel for the first leg of Korea trip due to the reviews here. Stayed for 3 nights and was not disappointed. There was easy access from airport, but due to the time and my big travel group, we took the taxi from airport.
What I liked about the hotel:
- Nice cosy rooms, the family room (1 double and 1 single) was a good size. No room for extra bed though
- Nice toileteries and aloe vera shampoo, with sponge provided for a good scrub
- The insulation was perfect and you would appreciate this after a cold winter day out
- The sound proofing was good too. We hardly hear a sound, except people talking outside the corridor
- Wifi speed was good and steady in the room
- There is a direct link from hotel to the Seoul subway and at Gongdeok station, it serves as an interchange for 2 lines. Getting to Hongaik Uni area was easy.
- There is a small supermarket and some cafes directly under the hotel, but note that it is not a mall. Across the hotel was a street full of pork bbq restaurants that open till late.

What I find lacking:
- There was no bellboy at the lobby. They only have a trolley with which you have to DIY. It lacks the basic hotel service standard that was expected
- The website showed rooms with 2 double beds, but they do not have this configuration in the hotel. The biggest room is the family room which sleeps 3. So for a family 4, with 2 kids (like us) will find this a problem.
- I like my bed to be firm but even then, the bed was hard by my standard. (Gradually realised that all hotels I stayed in- in Korea - had really hard beds...)

Note:
At the Subway entrance from this hotel, the information counter may not be open and there was no "T-money" machine. You will need to take a single trip ticket and get the card from other stations. We made the mistake of buying "Cash Bee" cards from the convenience store there and it was difficult to get refund later.

We stayed here as part of the Seoul Stopover promotion, which is something Korean Airlines offers its transit passengers. We chose this hotel because it was along the KAL Limousine route, and because it was directly adjacent to the Gongdeok subway station, from which you can easily get anywhere in Seoul (cannot recommend their subways enough; they are clean, cheap, fast, and easily navigable for English-speaking tourists).

Check-in was quick and easy, which was good, given our 12-hour flight. The seventh-floor room, while smallish, was comfortable, very clean, and offered an excellent view of the surroundings. The bathroom was very nice. Power is available in both 220 and 110, so you can leave your adapter in your suitcase. Bathroom has a rain shower and a huge bathtub, as well as one of those wonderful Japanese toilets (people coming from North America, you'll soon know what I mean!).

We slept very well (no outside noise whatsoever), and were treated to a very tasty breakfast buffet the next morning.

If we visit Seoul again, we will likely stay here.

My wife and I stayed 7 nights while visiting our son. He lives in Sinchon and this is very convenient to his apartment with just a short (5 mins) taxi ride. Below the hotel you can access the subway and there are several restaurants and two coffee shops. Taxis are always available right outside the hotel. There are many restaurants within walking distance and the front desk was helpful finding what we wanted. We went to Babeans Coffee Shop under the hotel every day and enjoyed it a lot.

The staff were all very polite and accommodating, including front desk, restaurant, housekeeping and security.

Our room had one queen bed, a desk and chair, and a small sitting area. The room is small compared to most US hotels but perfectly adequate as long as you don't plan to spend a lot of time there. However, the bathroom was very roomy. Since we stayed 7 nights it was nice to have plenty of counter and shelf space in the bathroom and there is a large shower/bath area.

One problem we had is the room being way too warm. A common theme we notice with Seoul in the winter time is that it's freezing outside with snow and wind but way too hot inside for our liking. Even with a 5 minute taxi ride my wife and I would be opening the back windows with 28F temperatures. The hotel windows can only be opened by staff and we requested they open them and provide a fan. Even with sub-freezing temperatures and a fan we never got the room as cool as we wanted and the central A/C is shut off during the winter. Unfortunately the window ended up being closed the last couple days and by the time we returned to the room we just wanted to sleep and didn't want to wait for someone to come to the room. The days we did ask they were very happy to open the windows once we had our Korean daughter-in-law explain in Korean.

We ate in the restaurant a few mornings for the breakfast buffet and it was good.

A very positive attribute of this hotel is free wifi in the rooms for as many devices as needed (we had 5) and plenty of power receptacles in the room.

I am glad to have found this hotel and will likely stay next time I visit Seoul!

Room Tip: If you like your room to be cool, request a cooler room or to have the window opened and a fan provi...

It is located on the top of the subway station. Really convenient to go anywhere is seoul. In our 7 days there we used the subway all the time.

In the bottom floors there is a mall. It has a supermarket, cafés, fast food and restaurants. There is also a bank which does have a good exchange rate to change money.

The front desk were very friendly and will help you. Across the hotel is a bus stop where you can take bus to airport. Note there at 2 kinds of buses, one is cheaper one (which usually is full) and a more expensive luxury bus. The luxury bus attendant was nice and helps you with your luggage.

The area around the hotel has a fe restaurants. You need to know Korean in some of them since they mostly cater to locals. There are a few bars within waking distance.

Overall would highly recommend. Great location and convenient.
