“Walking besides Gyeongbokgung Palace”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

A number of featured shops, food and handcraft stuff. Either Korean style or foreign style. It is nice to walk through the street before or after visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Take a walking tour of a traditional Korean village, view some demonstrations, learn about how difficult life was before now, and try on an hanbok!

“A Beautiful Place ..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

This place is simply awesome, I love it !
Clean, safe and very relax to see the traditional houses along the way..

One thing you should keep in mind that try not to make so much noise during your walk here cos I saw many tourist laughing , talking loudly while taking picture, it's pretty annoying for the residents who live there.

I like this place a lot.

“Randomly discovered”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2012

We were looking around for Insadong and we found this Bukchon area. Its a collection of old houses in traditional designs that have been preserved in this area. I believe that these are all privately owned houses and that this is now a very upscale area.

The walk allows you to get a sense of how old Seoul must have felt, as you walk through the alleyways and up and down the walking paths. The nice thing is that they have helpful guides in red uniforms as well as kiosks where they provide maps through the area.

Other than the nice old houses, there are a collection of art galleries and coffeeshops that make the entire experience a pleasant way to spend the afternoon.
