Came here for breakfast before heading over the royal palace. Arrived here when it just opened. There wasn't a line. There are several houses in the restaurant. Some offer traditional seating and some western style. We requested the western style instead.

Ordered 1 chicken soup and one seafood pancake since we like variety of food. Soup was flavorful and the chicken was very tender. We were served with ginseng liquor, turnip, and kimchee. I thought Seafood pancake is just okay. However I realized it has the most seafood comparing to the next few seafood pancake I had during the trip.

It is a good place to try if you are visiting the palace. However, it may be a good idea to share the soup if you want to try more stuffs later in the day..

We were so excited & arrived at around 11am in a group of 5. Good thing is that we do not need to line up & the hostess brought us to our table immediately as the restaurant was not full.

After being seated, we were attended by a female order taker. The female order taker was "amazingly" rude. We ordered for a white chicken ginseng soup, a black chicken ginseng soup, seafood pancake & a steamed whole chicken. By the time when we tried to order for the steamed chicken, the order taker get frustrated out of sudden and asked us to change to another dish as she claimed that the steamed chicken need to wait for 30 minutes.
We told her politely that we can wait for 30 minutes, as we wanted to try it so bad. Then she just said:"FINE!". She took the menu and slammed the menu on the next table.

While having the dishes, no one bother to refill our water eventhough we asked for several times. At the end, we just picked up the jar and serve ourselves.

I would said the dishes are average, you can find tastier and cheaper ginseng chicken soup outside.

Overall, it is a total disappointment.

A little overrated as there are much nicer and cheaper ones. But soup still tasted nice and chicken was fresh. We went there in the morning so there wasn't any queue. Wouldn't recommend a trip down especially for this.

Its just a walk away from Gyeongbokgung Palace. When we arrive, people are lining up outside the restaurant. Since we went during summer time, its too hot. However, restaurant provide umbrellas. We waited for 20minutes to be seated.

We had a Korean traditional feel of lunch where we sat in the floor to eat. One order is a whole chicken. Koreans eat one each and because I'm a small little girl, I asked my boyfriend to share it with me.. :)

Food is good. Since we are Filipinos, we love salty and rich tasting food. Their Samgyetang is so-so. We had the same food in the Philippines called tinola which has a better tasting.

It was fantastic that we went early (before 12 noon) and got a table immediately. When we left, we saw such a long line of people waiting under the scorching sun! Ordered the usual samgyetang and a pancake. My hubby and I could not even finish our food and they were nice enough to wrap up the pancake leftovers for us to take away. To be honest, the samgyetang (ginseng chicken) tasted more or less like what is offered everywhere else but a bit more pricey. However, it was really a pleasant experience to eat at this traditional hanok place ie. sitting on the floor. They served ginseng liquor which was quite strong (20%) and we decided to buy a bottle back (10,000 won).
