“Excellent value hotel in the heart of Seoul”
Reviewed February 28, 2014

I stayed there 3 nights in total during my stay in Seoul. The location is unbeatable if you want to do tourism in Seoul. Located in front of one of the palaces and 5-10 min walk from Insadong.

The hotel has nothing fancy but is perfectly clean with a proper service and a modern room. The bad point is for the size of the room. I got a semi double which was just enough to place inside a large bed and all the furnitures, but that was my choice and the normal double must be totally fine. Definitely a great value.

This hotel is a good place to stay if you are looking for a place to stay that is inexpensive but effective. It is old but clean. There were no windows in my room. But it had everything I needed, and a desktop computer. Drinking water was provided in the refrigerator. A pouch full of toiletries, including facial products, was provided in the bathroom. The wifi is decent.

One strange thing that happened was that I checked in and they gave me a room that had not yet been cleaned (which I discovered when I went up to it) but it was not a problem because I went back down and they gave me another room.

I needed to check out early but they allowed me to leave my stuff at the desk and come back for it later in the afternoon, which I appreciated.

The rooms are very small & beds very firm, but the hotel is clean & walking distance from the airport bus, so its a very good value hotel.

They do not include breakfast though even though it says it does when you book.

Our room smelled of smoke so we asked to be moved... It took about half an hour to explain due to the language barrier, but once they knew what we needed they were happy to oblige.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the same wing as the lobby. The rooms are furnished nicer and are slightly bigger...

The location is excellent. Airport bus stop located across the street, palace across the street. Close to most attraction. Most attractions are within walking distance; subway stations are very close if you prefer not to walk. Taxi is quite costly in Asia standard. Definitely take metro for traffic hours.

Nothing high end about this hotel. But it is clean, and full of amenities for the price. Hotel have another tower across with newly renovated rooms but the rooms in the main building are perfectly fine, except the bed is very hard even with Asia standard. WIFI signal is good.

We request extra blankets and there aren't any extra blankets or pillows. The lighting system is quite annoying; it automatic shuts off after you turn it on for awhile, especially bathroom lights. I can see it will be a problem for solo travelers because you do need to go outside of the bathroom to switch it back on. Hopefully it won't happen in the middle of your shower. I guess this is the way they save electricity. Other than that, everything is good.

Room Tip: Rooms with shower stall is in better condition.

It was minus 6C when we arrived so lovely to walk into a room with underfloor heating. At times it was too hot and we had to open the window for a while! The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was very high tech. The toilet had a panel that looked like mission control! It was great to have free wifi throughout the hotel.

The hotel was a little difficult to find at first but quite convenient for the metro station, airport bus and Gyeonghuigung Palace. The shop near the entrance to the hotel was useful for buying hot drinks or snacks.

I would stay here again. In fact we tried to do so on our return journey but it was already fully booked for the date we needed.

Great price. In the middle of area with many smaller hotels, hostels. Nice quiet neighborhood with cute little narrow streets and local restaurants. Short walks to the main sights. Booked DMZ tour day before with front desk staff - very easy. Wifi could be better - had to open our door to connect because signal was low. Short walk to subway.

We stayed in Noble Hotel for 9 days in October 2013. From Incheon Airport, we took the airport limousine bus # 6011. We got lost because the information counter at the airport gave us the wrong stop, so we had to walk around trying to find our way at almost midnight so it was a good thing that Seoul is a very safe city, otherwise it would’ve been a really bad experience.
The hotel is located along a narrow street and is quite set back from the street. It’s a 33-room hotel in 5 floors. We stayed on the 5th floor, and our window faced a brick wall which did not bother us since we really only used the hotel to sleep in. Mattresses were very firm so if you’re used to a soft mattress, you may want to find somewhere else to stay.

Bathroom was always clean and smelled nicely, but the bathroom curtain had some mouldy stains that was a bit off-putting. Shower pressure was good and hot water was never a problem the whole time we stayed. Wi fi signal was very good, in fact, wi fi connection in Seoul was always available most places for free, so connectivity was never a problem.
The hotel is located right across Changdeokgung Palace. Anguk station 3 exit was also near enough to walk.

The best thing which recommends this hotel is its location since it’s near the palaces, Insadong, Jogyesa Temple, the Hanok Village, and the really lovely shopping and dining area called Samcheongdong. There are also lots of little holes-in-the wall dining places which serve Korean food located around the hotel.
If you want something basic to stay in without frills, this is a reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location.

Other useful tips:
1. The best way to get to Noble Hotel from Incheon airport is by taking airport limousine bus 6011. It only costs 10,000 won one way. Tell the driver to drop you off at the Changdeokgung Palace stop, which is the next stop after Anguk. When you get off the bus (with the main road at your back), head left. You will pass Garden Tower and the Standard Chartered Bank building. Make a right at the tiny, narrow street at the corner of the Standard Chartered Building – this is the street where Noble Hotel is located. You will see the neon hotel sign when you make the turn.
2. Most Koreans do not speak English. Before you go off exploring, make sure you ask your front desk to write your destination in Korean in case you are planning to take a taxi. Otherwise, you will most likely not be understood by your taxi driver. We ended up taking the subway most of the time because the train system has English signs and it was easier to get around using the train.
3. Invest in a T card which is their equivalent of the Octopus card in HongKong. You can get this in train stations and you can use it to get around in the metro, buses and taxis. Some convenience stores even accept T cards as payments.
4. If you’re planning to visit the palaces, buy the combination ticket which only costs 10,000 won and gives you access to all 5 palaces. Otherwise, you pay 3,000 won per palace.
5. We found out that haggling in Korea is not customary. People pay the tag price, so do be conscious of this while shopping.
6. In restaurants, you pay by going to the counter with your order slip. No one will bring your bill to your table. This is why tipping is also not customary because you usually pay the owner of the dining place.
