Its really fantastic to see these baths and the history that surounds them. They are reacently renovated and to a high standard. They are open 24hrs a day every day of the week no exceptions.. The whole of Tiblisi seem to go there.. It is an experience that is well worth going to .. For £30 you can have a full body massage, body scrub, sauna, rinse and swim. All the massuses are professionally trained. There are female baths and male baths, they even take the whole family from granny to the kids. Plus there is a couple of good eateries there and really pretty gardens to sit in once you come out.

“Abanotubani (Bath District)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

Abanotubani is one of the oldest districts of Tbilisi, where different cultures meet. Apart from famous Turkish bathes, there are several interesting landmarks there, including a Muslim mosque and old houses with traditional wooden balconies. It is believed that exactly from this place the foundation of Tbilisi as a capital was started. Furthermore, there is a site of the settlement from Roman empire times, with the remnants of the bath.

Abanotubani is in the heart of the old town, close to the river banks and many places of interest. Definitely a must see once in Tbilisi.

As the name says, this is the bath district, meaning that Turkish baths with round domes are still functional and many locals as well as tourist visit them regularly.
