Excellent views from the top. Beautiful wildflowers around in April. Some crumbling bits, be careful if it is or has been raining.

Great climb to suberb location, feel of the history and the possibility to be in the nature right in the center of town. For someone more lazy - you can go there by cablecar

Take the cable car up. Cost is 1 lari ( 2 I believe if you need the card). Hopefully you'll the car with the plexi glass floor :). Once you are up there you can walk around, see Mother Georgia statue, look over into the botanical gardens, church etc. women: Bring a scarf to cover your head in the church. Great place for pictures and view of the city. I suggest walking down and maybe stopping at the hotel long the way for a beer, wine or some delicious Georgian food. You can also take the cable car down which is obviously quicker.

Take the cable car up, walk down. Make sure you have shoes that grip. Slippery when wet! Fantastic views of the city. Bring a head scarf and something to wrap around your waist for a skirt if you want to visit the church.

If you are scared of heights and not to keen on climbing to high places like myself then this Fortress isn't a good idea (at least that's what I thought in the beginning) :) It's an old fortress with not your typical form of stairs so you might have to use your hands and have good balance but once you get up you won't regret it - trust me :) I heard it is also amazing to visit during night since the views are even better so don't forget the camera :) The pure fresh air and a small breeze you will be able to feel once on the top will be stuck to your memory.
