“Gatsby Style Park and Restaurant”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

One of the greatest places in Tbilisi. It's also historical sight. Funicular was the most popular spot during the Soviet Period and even before. Famous for its garden and Gatsby style restaurant with great lounge bar, managed by GMT Group who operates Marriott Tbilisi.
Trains are new, whole complex renovated in 2011-2013.
There are many attractions for extreme lovers, children, dinopark. etc. Bombora Park is designed for Family visits and entertaining.

Nice and quick ride to the base of the TV tower. Great views and the restaurant at the top is very nice. Worth the trip.

“Funicular, walking in the city, great views”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Having little time in the city, I decided to do what I like best: walk! I took the metro (as I always do) when I visit a city, stopped at Liberty square and from there walked all the way to the old part of the city (pretty easy and safe) until I found the funicular (you can't miss it, it just passes all the time above your head!). At the metro, they asked me to pay a trivial amount of money to buy a plastic card with which you do lots of things after they charge it. So I used it both at the metro station for using to to/from my hotel, and they also asked it at the funicular. They charged it for a ride up/down. The views to the river and over the old part of the city were amazing! Really worth the ride. I am attaching two photos for the sake of visitors. The recommended time of the 2 - 3 hours is for the total of the big walk I did. Also, includes getting pleasantly lost in the old part of the city and the touristic "Sharden" area where all the nice cafes are located on the foot of the old city. I hope all this helps. Ready to give more specific information to prospective visitors.

“Very nice place, the view at night is beautiful!”
Reviewed September 12, 2013 via mobile

A beautiful park at the top of the hill, great for kids and the parents will also enjoy it. I think it's better to come before dark to enjoy the rides and to go to giant wheel at dark.
