“Only got a snack - but a lovely place”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

I arrived in Tbilisi in the mid-afternoon, after a rather harrowing journey from Armenia. It was hot, I was hungry, but didn't want much to eat. I had researched some restaurants in advance and Cafe Gabriadze was near the hotel and seemed like a top bet. I sat outside, with a great view of the funky clock. I ordered the Georgian cheese plate and it came with 3 or 4 different cheeses and a beautiful bouquet of herbs to eat with them. I also ordered a glass of house white wine. A bit disappointingly, it was not very cold and as it was a very hot day, it soon became a bit unpleasant to drink as I wasn't gulping it down! But the wine itself was nice. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, I didn't go inside but even in the mid-afternoon it looked rather crowded.

“Nice and expensive”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

Coolissimo place. Cafe side-by-side of the puppet theatre. Already the theatre building attracts as a magnet. One can see theatrical accents everywhere. Excellent place for a romantic date.
Food not bad. Just very dearly. For one glas of beer, three glasses of home wine, small piggy shashlik and rather small portion of the semichki lamb we paid above € 36...

“Décor trumps food”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

The decoration is definitely better than the food. Nevertheless a nice place to meet and start a night out in Tbilisi.

“Tasty and beautiful”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

A very beautiful place to start with (decorated by Rezo Gabriadze himself, a very talented Georgian movie artist, director and scriptwriter), this cafe goes straight to your heart the minute you enter. Wonderful little artifacts all over the place, paintings, even chairs... Then the food comes! According to locals, it's a more European version of Georgian experience or cuisine, but what a treat. Seriously, I just tried the best veal shashlik in my life, here. Everything on the table was very fine, including the wine selection. With a confusing universe of endemic wines all over the place, Gabriadze carries some of the best, by Marani, and their white Mtsvane was the best I tried in Georgia. The staff was very professional and helpful too. A place not to miss.

“Slo-Fi available”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

This place is a good explanation for Tripadvisor's existence. Just as you are, I don't feel the clear necessity of reading the reviews of each and every place intended to visit. Otherwise, how do you expect to get a good surprise?
We were not forewarned, but fortunately not hungry. Maybe there's a special slow motion zone, and we should've only tuned ourselves to the right living speed? Cutting a long story short - this place is good for replete phlegmatics, ready to discuss artistic interior for a certain time.
P.S. Waiter engagement - 20min, order waiting - ? (after another 20 min waiting for local desert we cancelled it). Will definitely come here another time to reserve a beautiful balcony which was under repair. Why won't they supply me a relaxing couch?
