Recommended by our hotel concierge, this beautiful garden restaurant turned out to be the most disastrous of our entire trip to Sakartvelo. Without reservation, we were seated in a somewhat obscure corner too far away to get anyone’s attention. The staff were busy serving a group of at least 20 Chinese tourists anyway. There was even folk dance and music exclusively for them but not for us second-class citizens.

An hour passed and only two out of the three dishes we ordered arrived. Unbelievably it took as many as three waiters to find out that the kitchen “forgot” our chicken. The food might be authentic yet we had better home-cooked meals in places like Sighnaghi. We didn’t know if we just had bad luck but if you still wanted to take risks, you should first check whether there would be a big party that night. Otherwise you could end up walking home hungry like we did.

The food is authentic Georgian with a great choice on the menu. Everything is fresh and really tasty.

Really nice setting once your are inside. As it is right next to the main road, eating in the courtyard part can be a bit noisy. Will try inside or further into the gardens next time.

Tsiskvili (the mill) has a beautiful garden, with traditional architechture. In the garden you can see how Georgian bread is made and be welcome by a friendly staff. There is a waterfall and several dining halls on the banks of the river. There is the main restaurant hall where together with delicious Georgian food you can enjoy traditional Georgian music and dance. If you prefer more privacy, there are different dining halls of various sizes. Overall it is a beautiful and authentic experience and perfect opportunity to try variety of Georgian dishes and wine.

We, georgian people like tasty dishes. The place where you can eat the best georgian food is restaurant Tsiskvili. National Music, nice design and delicious georgian wine is unforgettably. There are the small rooms where the people can sit comfortably. I recommend to all this local

The Georgian cuisine is with no doubt, among the best I experienced over the years and Tsiskvili (mill in English) did not disappointed me. Invited by some friends we had an excellent dinner in a very nice ambiance and amusing traditional music & dance performed by local artists.
From appetizers to main dishes, everything was perfect and complemented, of course, by a delicious local wine and “chacha” (kind of local grappa). Just to mention some of the dishes: “Rachuli Lori (smoked bacon), “badekoni” (chicken liver), “badrijani” (eggplant with nuts), and a variety of regional cheeses and a fantastic corn bread. The venue offers different ambiances all of them nicely decorated and with a friendly service. A must if you are in Tbilisi and enjoy good food.
