“good location....and it kinda stops there”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

i've been here on a project in november. i stayed for 1 week.
i was fortunate enough to get the big room with 1 big double comfortable bed and a single, a fireplace, own bathroom, huge room over all with ac that had both cold and warm options
but ...the balcony door wouldn't close, and november is not the time of the year when that is bearable. we would turn on the ac...but the ppl managing the hotel felt free to come search for the remote through our things and close it for us...because it consumes electricity....really? i thought it runs on fairy dust.
the bathroom was big, but moldy and smelly. they had a water tank ...so 3 ppl taking showers one after another...was not a pleasant experience for the last person.
during our entire stay we did not receive a key. i personally was ok with that. but i drew the line at ppl entering the room without our consent, and that happened frequently. nothing was stolen, but we had no privacy, nor did i enjoy them rearranging or fiddling with my things in search for their own agendas
food was a big issue..very poor quality, very unsanitary, several of us found hair in our food. again...on a personal level i found a 40-50cm hair in my soup. a lady took out the hair in front of me took the soup with her, and in the kitchen poured it back into the serving bowl.
the owner was not friendly, yes ocassionally yeled at us for no good reason, nor helpful and our group had all their good manners with them.
all in all...the location is good...you can reach all interesting sites by foot ....but unless you are fortunate enough to get the 3 decent rooms in the hostel....it's just not worth it

Babilina is well located B&B near the Kura and Freedom square. But i have to agree that the rooms are to different between each other taking in consideration the standard condiciton. each floor have just 2 or 3 rooms and you have to go up and down many stairs not so safety when yu have to circulate to come in and out.
It´s a family house, not all the family are so sympathic but i guess this is possible to manage.
IT´s a quite good place for people comming for 1 or 2 days and don´t want to spend so much on the accomodation and see the city centre, otherwise i would not recommend now.

Despite what the website may say, this not a hotel, nor does it have parking, a restaurant or a social area. It is undergoing refurbishment so stairs are a bit dangerous and nails stick out from walls. Aircon doesn't work well. Owners and staff speak no English so without Georgian or Russian you will need to rely on google translate! Wifi is fine, and location is good, but difficult to find.

Room Tip: For a few more lari, you could stay somewhere much nicer.
