Take the time to stroll this grand avenue and you will notice the street sculptures every 50 - 100 metres. The Museum, National Gallery and old Parliament are some of the grand buildings on Rustaveli. There is a lovely French cafe serving croissants and coffees to the locals as well as visitors.
A broad avenue that you shouldn't try to cross knowing Tbilisi drivers. Use the underpass.

Tbilisi's main street leading to freedom square. Worth seeing for the architecture alone and a veritable treasure trove of restaurants and shops hidden around corners if you're feeling adventurous.

Rustaveli street has some of the nicest buildings of Tbilisi and almost all the museums. Don't miss it!

The busy centre of Tbilisi's life and culture. Along its mile or so (1.5km) are the Parliament Buildings, National Gallery, Fine Arts and Georgian museums, theatre, opera house (under renovation 2013) and churches, maybe not world class but all still impressive. Allow time to walk both ways to take it in, plus, of course, any time you want to spend in the museums and galleries. Cafes and shops provide the usual distractions.
