I have stayed at this hotel a few times and found it to be comfortable and one of the best in the city. The rooms have been renovated and are nice and quiet and the beds are quite comfortable. There are many choice restaurants within walking distance and the market at the bridge is only a 15 minute walk away. The staff is professional and polite and they were a pleasure to deal with. Remember to use the Bank that is by the elevators in the lobby to get your Georgian currency. A safe and reliable way not to get ripped off at outside ATMs. A nice market is down the street about 3 blocks if you turn right out of the lobby. They have everything that you need including food, booze, and wine.

Frankly just did everything you would expect from a 5* hotel and did it well. Great location smack bang in the centre of Rustaveli Avenue, about 300 metres walk from Freedom square and less to the national gallery. There is also a metro station very nearby. Rustaveli avenue as some good places to eat and shopping and the hotel is an attractive old building with a great deal of history. We checked in late at night but the procedure was quick, polite and efficient, as was every contact I had with any of the hotel staff throughout the stay, although special mention should go to Ana on reception whose cheerful disposition and good service made the hotel stand out as an excellent choice even more. We were very lucky really as we stayed here over the courtyard by marriott due to a booking error at the courtyard.
The hotel also has good currency exchange facilities and an excellent bar, Parnas, the staff at which were again excellent especially when on several occasions we ordered food quite late at night, at some hotels they are not overly keen on this and the response you can get can be a little surly, however here it was no trouble at all. True you can get cheaper food and drink elsewhere on Rustaveli and a larger selection of authentic Georgian options too, but the portions were large even for the basic sandwich options and prices reasonable for a 5*, especially by western european standards.
(Try the Zedazeki draught beer).
Best thing of all though was the bed. Very comfortable, just the right firmness and good pillows. Definitely the standout hotel we stayed in during our week in Georgia.

Located at the most beautiful street of Tbilisi, this Marriott is a very nice hotel, with many stories which this hotel has witnessed. Just 5-7 mins walk from Freedom Square on Rustaveli Avenue, this property is elegant old style European architect building.
Rustaveli street view is very good from room and closed glass window will keep you away from most of the street noise.

Room size is good with enough space to walk around. King size Bed in room is very comfy and extra pillows just add to ones sleep. Room Amenities include well stocked minibar, many power outlets, nice big comfortable chair (in addition to 2 small chairs) with excellent Wifi speed and good water pressure in bathroom. Complementary water bottles (2 each day) comes in handy, after a nice walk. All big brand shops are 300mtrs around the hotel.
Nice paintings on roofs and walls around the lobby gives it a very artistic look. The front desk staff is always ready to welcome you with a smile and is helpful and friendly.
All in all a very nice, comfortable and clean hotel.

I would like to add that we used http://www.myweekend.ge/ travel agency for my day tours and it was terrific. Right from the organizer Cia, to the English speaking guide Natia and the driver Koba. Natia iss trained and qualified freelancer and hence she made sure that she shares as much as she could with us. As we were travelling with a 2 year old Koba especially took care while driving the long distances.Tbilisi was made so much better by the their knowledgeable company.

I loved the stay in the hotel and the travel agency – hence a great holiday

This is a long delayed review for my stay at the Marriott Tbilisi during by business trips to Tbilisi in 2012.

The hotel was selected by my company and I was not a member of loyalty programme of this chain therefore I was not pleased at first - but well - now I only look for Marriott where ever I go just because of the service in Tbilisi Marriott!

Due to overbooking I stayed at 2 other hotels in Tbilisi and they cannot beat the service provided here.

Check-in:
Professional staff - they know how to welcome a first time customer and I have been greeted with the phrase 'welcome back' or 'nice to see you again' on my returns - just what you expect from a 5 Star Hotel.
To save time, I called the reception every time 15 minutes in advance for my check-out and as soon as I arrive to reception - only couple of minutes for me to be out from the hotel.

The hotel:
It is an amazing building - could not be on a better location. You are just in the heart of Tbilisi!
Despite the fact building is old - it is well taken care of, so you feel like you are in the early 1900's with the touch of luxury of today!

Rooms:
Since I traveled back and forth had a chance to stay at almost all rooms ( except the suits of course ). They are all amazing but I enjoyed the park view rooms more. They seemed more spacious.
The bed cannot be more comfortable - I requested additional pillows on first visit and they were provided without asking on my returns which is a good touch of service and recognition of customer.

Service:
The best I have seen in Georgia - I cannot fault even 1 staff member - during all the travels I felt like a Queen. Certainly, May I help you, With pleasure - these are the only words heard from staff. Either well paid and/or well trained.

There are 2 things I can note for travellers:
- Spa and Pool at Courtyard Marriott which is 500 m away from Hotel but they provide free of charge shuttle if you ask. Pool may not be possible to add to this building due to architectural reasons but I cannot understand why they do not move to Spa from Courtyard to Marriott Tbilisi.
- Price might seem higher than other European Countries but this is the level of charge here due to limited number of chain hotels - with more competition - I hope they will reduce the rates to a more acceptable level.

Room Tip: Choose the park view rooms - less noise, amazing view

I have been at Marriott Tbilisi on a number of occasions, and I absolutely love staying there.
I have noticed a few reviews mentioning that the hotel is worn down and needs updating - I beg to differ and here is why. A great hotel has to represent its surroundings in order to have a soul. If the Marriott Tbilisi was like any other modern airport hotel, it would simply not be a great hotel anymore. I love patina in the rooms, I love the historic building and I feel that the hotel has a soul and stories to tell.
About the rooms: nice comfortable big beds, great linen quality, great soundproofing, wifi, well stocked minibar, nice decor, plenty of power outlets and a nice desk. Everything the business traveler needs.
The front desk staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, especially if you are a returning guest. Cleaning is excellent. Concierge service very helpful. All in all this is a classical elegant hotel.
This is truly a nice place to stay, and I cant wait to come back next month.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view.
