“Good location, but hard to find!”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

The Georgian House is a very good hotel just a short walk from the Avlabari Metro station. There are plenty of small shops in the neighborhood and lots of people roaming around. The hotel is well hidden behind great walls but it feels very safe.
The room was rather a suite with a small hall, bedroom and a drawing room with a desk and a sofa. The bathroom was good.
Breakfast was included, but I cant say that I fancy the Gerorgian version of continental breakfast.
Very service minded staff. No problem with English.

Stayed in January 2011 for a scheduled 3 nights, but was so comfortable here I extended and stayed my entire 8 nights at this hotel. The ladies working were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is small, nicely decorated, and very clean. I'll definitely choose to stay there again for my next trip in Tbilisi.

Me and my husband stayed there last summer and it was pretty good. In fact, at the time there were lots of available rooms so they gave us a lux room for the price of standard room with a huge bathroom with blue marble floor and a massive bath.

In the evenings they take you to their cellar for wine tasting because they produce their own wine and fill it in plastic bottles of water of different flavours. They also introduce you to their local type of vodka called cha cha. They gave us 2 litres of red wine for free to take home which was very generous of them.

The admin staff generally consists of english speaking guys who are perfectly aware of the customer service.

The only drawback that I have thought of was about the constituency of breakfast, it had lots of jam for the morning meal which I am not used to, different kind of sweet cookies, but their omelette was perfect. I recommend it for all types of travellers.

Room Tip: Located in quiet area.

I stayed at the Georgian house for 5 days. The location is great for sightseeing, either by foot or public transport. Lots of convenience shops around. Staff very helpfull.

The hotel is disorganised and badly run. The staff at reception are not helpful at all. The rooms, particularly the bathroom, looked grubby. On the last two days when I stayed there, nobody came in to clean the room or make up the beds.

Breakfast doesn't start until 9.00 a.m, and often at 9 o'clock there is nobody around to prepare it. The staff are not particularly co-operative if you want an earlier breakfast.

The location is poor, and the road leading up to the hotel has not been properly surfaced, so you have to clamber over a lot of rubble and boulders to reach the front door. The lack of a proper road is problematic in rainy weather, leading to heavy flooding. It would not be suitable for a disabled or elderly person.

The hotel has potential but it is just not being run properly.

Dear customer,

Reception staff is glad to help our guests with any kind of requests, hotel is not big and communication with customers is always welcomed. Rooms are made everyday from 10 AM till 7 PM. Breakfast is starting 9 AM but under request bar is ready to serve breakfast almost from the midnight without any kind of extra charge. Hotel has excellent location for public transport and there is just 10 minutes walking distance from the old town. There are really small damages on the road nearby but this is not causing any problems for our guests.

The staff were surly and unhelpful and didn't bother to clean our room for two days during our five day stay. The bathroom was grubby when we arrived. Breakfast started at 9am and, when we requested an earlier breakfast, we were greeted with a sulky and uncooperative response. Do not stay in this hotel - there are much better places in Tbilisi. The location of the hotel is not salubrious and it is situated on an unmade up road, so if anyone is disabled or old, they would have difficulty making their way to the hotel.
