“Best meal ever!”

Just to confirm what everybody else has said - & to show they're not slipping back at all - this place is just amazingly good. It was the best meal of our trip to Burma & to Thailand - & we thought possibly the best meal we'd ever eaten anywhere. It was really that good. A perfect garden setting with very attentive staff & a first-class French-Asian fusion menu. The Swiss couple who run it have had to train up everybody from scratch & now their staff could work at any of the best places worldwide. We enjoyed all the surprise amuse-bouche division - & especially the chance of a great cheese-board after 2 weeks without - & the espresso was the best of the trip also. Anyway would rate it as a "must visit" part of the Yangon experience. It made the perfect end to our stay there - & remember to book ahead as they are always incredibly busy....
Not cheap but worth every kchat!

“Fine dining on an international scale”

Le Planteur is one of finest restaurants we have eaten at, worldwide. It may not be the stuffiest, or the most cutting edge in minimalist style, but the food was outstanding – world-class. This little gem is owned by Swiss husband and wife team – Felix and Lucia Epissier – she is the front of house, he is the chef (a Michelin star chef in Europe before moving to Myanmar), and they have been at Le Planteur for three years. It was one of the most atmospheric and romantic dining settings I’ve experienced – gorgeous outdoor seating on the manicured lawn in the fairy-light-lit garden, tables a decent distance apart, ducks waddling and quacking across the grass, candles in every possible direction, and the perfect music at the perfect volume underscoring the whole evening. I realised when I sat down that I forgot to put on bug spray. On asking the waitress if they had any, she told me that I wouldn’t need any – the garden is treated twice a week to kill the bugs, and there was a mosquito coil alight under the table. Worked perfectly; not one nibble of the insect kind all evening.

We received complimentary hors d’oeuvres, as well as an amuse-bouche, then we had 2 starters each to share: red tuna and salmon sashimi salad with ginger and lemon (silken and flavoursome); grilled asparagus with orange (fresh and crisp); agnelotti with sun-dried tomatoes, olives and Myanmar fetta (clear, dynamic flavours); truffle filled ravioli and creamy truffle foam (with the perfect amount of truffle). Both pasta dishes were precisely al dente – and the filling was scrumptious! We also received a complimentary tray of petit fours, which, while usually made with marzipan, were much more tasty and varied – more like baby desserts! There were plenty of tasty options for the carnivores in the party as well, and no one left unsatisfied.

I would highly recommend this dining experience when in Yangon.

“Best western restaurant in Myanmar”

We spent the last night of our two week trip in Yangon and had dinner at Le Planteur. This was our only western dinner in two weeks but this has to be one of the finest restaurants in Myanmar. The setting is superb, service up to western standards and the food was excellent. I now have a favorite restaurant in Myanmar

“Hands down!”

This was recommended by a friend of ours who always comes here whenever he is in Yangoon so off we go to have dinner here on my birthday week in Myanmar. Oh boy, my husband somehow knew the the two swiss couple whos running the place now and they used to work together back in Switzerland. The place is awesome and it feels so nice to be in an open space restaurant with so much ambience and sometimes it can be very overwhelming. Its one of the perfect place for couples to have those ubber romantic dinner with a food to match with. Lucia who ensures everyone is taken cared of check each tables around the whole time to see everything is ok and will chit chat for a few minutes if she have time. The staff are very friendly and polite and very well trained and I got to give them hands down for giving them such good traning..Swiss quality i must say :-) and the food that Felix created is just something you wanna come back again and there is a lot to choose from. Check out the red room as well inside the building, you can hang out there with friends to chit chat and have a few bottles of wine and if youre lucky enough, maybe you can ask Lucia to give you a tour in the wine cellar...Its massive and with fabulous wines and a must for wine lovers I guess..Try the Red Mountain wines, which comes from the Shan State of Burma in Inley Lake. Thier wine is very good, especially the pinot and chardonnay..love it!
The place is always full every night so make sure you book in advance if you would like to have dinner here. Try also to come here in style and be picke dup with one of their vintage cars.

Save some space for the dessert and cheeses that comes around in this wooden trolleys...

“World Class Dining Experience”

The restaurant is located in the old Australian embassy. The colonial style building has a beautifully manicured lawn in the back where, weather permitting, the finest eating in Yangon takes place.

This is a world class dining experience. The service is attentive and the varied menu a treat. Each appetizer and entry better than the last. The wine selection is quite respectable and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is a real treat for any visitor to Yangon. It is the best in the City and the Swiss restauranteurs do a wonderful job of speaking with the guests and making sure each meal is a satisfying experience, Well done!!
