“Tempremental service and experience”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

We stayed here twice. Once at the start of the trip and one night at the end. It was good the first time. The service was excellent and the room bright and clean, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the al carte food we had at dinner time was nice and reasonably priced. (We would have recommended this hotel to anyone at thsi point.)
On our return 2 weeks later all the staff were different (I assume they work so many days/shifts on then the team swaps?) They took forever checking us in, sserving other customers and answering the phone at the same time. The room was old and tired and the aircon did not work, Soo it was roasting hot. To be fair they tried to ffiix it as soon as we complained, but it was still not working and despote complaing again we were not given the option to change rooms. We askead staff at reception if theey could make a reservation for afternoon tea at the Strand, which they did, but only reluctantly. In the evening we decided to eat in the restaurant again as we had enjoyed it so much previioussly. The staff were rude and brought the bill back with wrong items on it. When we enquired she increased the bill and refussed to give us our change!! She also refused to serve us any beers to take back up to the room. (It was puring down so we ddin't really want to go back out) Dreaful service avoid this hotel.

Room Tip: Asko for a high floor and make sure AC works before you let the portar leave.

very average hotel, but centrally located, with a friendly and efficient staff.
The good sides : it's easy to book if you're looking for a room without having done prior reservation. The location is really central. The rooms are big, relatively clean and boasting, indeed, an interesting panorama (view over the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Sakura Tower, Sule Pagoda and a lot of roofs), provided you're in a high floor.
Bad sides : very very noisy, because of the traffic on the flyover downstairs, the market activities and also the staff annoying chit-chats and use of emergency phones in the corridors for their private purpose (hence a phone ringing next to your door at any time of the day or night) . Old and a bit in decay, despite being kind of overpriced (80$/night) - somehow, a reflection of Yangon's area.

Room Tip: ask for a room on a higher floor and avoid those at the end of the corridor or near the emergency st...

expensive, poor value hotel. we paid 80 (!!!) dollars a night for a noisy, not so clean room (burn holes in the carpet), which overlooked a very noisy flyover. it's centrally located, right, but for the price you can do better... not recommended.

Rooms are very clean.I want to stay there again. i had friend his name was ongong. he used to take me out for shopping. it is a safe place to stay. I have spent 27$ per day in panoroma.

Room Tip: stay opposite to the rood side rooms....

Panorama is centrally located, right in downtown and walking distance to a lot of things. The area feels a bit hectic at first but you're right off the main road. The hotel itself feels a bit trapped in time, and not so much in a good way. The place overall needs a facelift and some upkeep. The lobby itself is nice and spacious; everyone at the reception desk is friendly and nice. They were very good about getting cabs, even our super early ride to the airport the next day. You can also change money (of course it has to be brand new!) at the hotel, which is a big plus.

The rooms themselves are pretty sparse and feels almost like a cheap motel. I wouldn't say the rooms are dirty, but they're not very clean either. However, the beds themselves were clean and my friends and I all got a good night's sleep. The bathroom is definitely the biggest thing that needs an update. Again, just needed a bit of an update. The one thing that was surprisingly nice about the hotel though was the wi-fi throughout the hotel. Reception was great inside our room. We only caught one morning of breakfast, and it seemed average; however, maybe on par with the rest of Yangon for this pricerange of hotels. Overall, not a bad stay, but not a memorable or exceptionally enjoyable stay. It was OK.

We stayed at the Panorama for one night at the end of our trip to Myanmar in july 2012. The hotel is centrally located but overall the hotel is not nearly as good to a similarly priced hotel (Hotel East) a couple of blocks away, where we stayed at the beginning of our trip. Unless you are paying out for the top priced hotels in Yangon, then you are faced with the overpriced tired hotels like the Panorama. There is a lack of supply and demand has gone up so prices have apparently increased even though the quality of the hotel is really lacking. We stayed on the 5th floor near the elevator which was good becuase there was good (well good for Myanmar) wifi connection with the antena right outside our door. Breakfast was poor, but as with everywhere in Myanmar, the staff were always friendly and helpful and the highlight of our stay here.

Local tourist agent said the price in the hotel has been doubled but still it is at the lower end of tolerable yangon hotels.Scarcity of rooms and influx of businessmen has caused this explosion.

Its more budget type in another country coming still cheaper.Still room is worth the price because it is very clean and provides all the basic needs. But remember to take a room in a upper floor above the 3rd as otherwise you face the slumland of yangon face on.The entrace is frightning as it looks a shady area bu tthe feeling disappears as you approach reception.

It provided an uneatable "worst breakfast"in yangon.Appears to be the haunt of the lower end of businessmen from India.
This hotel grows into you after initial shock entrance.Worth the price in todays yangon market.
The staff at reception good.Advice:Keep valued possessions in private vault at reception.Front staff helpful and understanding to all your needs.

Room Tip: Take room above 3rd floor otherwise you live face to face with yangon ghetto.Informed up above floor...
