“Great central location”
Reviewed June 8, 2012

Very well located hotel in cental Yangon & very clean . Fast check in & big rooms with big bed , Air condition , hairdryer , safe , electric kettle & complementary tea & coffee . Big bathroom with shower in the bath . The views are not the best , but you are in walking distance of almost everything . Staff where great & helped us in any problem we had. We went for three days to Bagan & left our suitcases in the hotel . The only down was the breakfast . The prize is quiet fair for Yangon as hotels are quiet expensive . We heard from our friend that they will all rise 1/3 in October or November . We had some problems before going to Myanmar booking hotels & flights as we did not get our visas until 5 days prior to our arrival date but thanks to our friend kyaw . ( kyawkhaing.myanmar@googlemail.com ). all of them where solved before arriving & we had a great time in Myanmar . Thank you very much KYAW . Looking forward to go back

Yangon doesn't have the hotel capacity for the influx of travelers so your options are limited. Pan aroma offers you a relatively pleasant experience in a central location (a few blocks from Traders) at a price that is reasonable for Yangon. You will be hard pressed to find better for the same budget dollar.
Porters are much more knowledgable about the city then the front desk staff so head strait to them with any questions and I should note that most front of house staff speaks English well.

Their services are very good and facilities were also great , this hotel is the mid-range hotel , as star , it is 3 star hotel . you can use the wifi in the lobby and the restaurant will be served you delicious food . But , if you don't like the noise , make sure your room is not with city view because there is a over bridge in front of this hotel . And then , it is located in down town . So , you can start you city tour easily and go back .
And then , it is also very near with train station , you can get there just 5 minutes.

Room Tip: Make sure the room not front of the hotel.

I was here in April and even with a bit of negotiation a double room was $70 a night - massively over-priced for what you get. The room is fine, but not worth the money. Breakfast is pretty poor, and geared towards the Indian people who seem to stay there and is pretty poor vs. other breakfasts I had in Myanmar. In its favour, it's near the market (10min walk) and the other 'sights' in the centre of town. Wi-fi only works in the lobby. Mini bar and cable TV in the rooms with BBC world, rooms facing the main street are noisy - ask for a room on the other side. About 10,000 kyat taxi to the airport (30mins depending on traffic). Helpful and friendly staff on reception who speak good English.

Room Tip: Ask for one that isn't on the main road side for a quieter option

Good location provided you have room at rear. The bath/shower leaked so the floor was wet every time you had a shower. When I complained to "housekeeping" I was told it was the builders fault and they were all like that. Limited breakfast offering for the western palate, otherwise didn't eat in the restaurant.
Reasonable valu for money.

I decided to stay here on my last night in Yangon before leaving Burma. It's located in the heart of the city and I thought it would be good for doing some last-minute souvenir shopping.

The hotel was really quite average. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious but somewhat old. Not sure why, but I was given a single bed, and my feet stuck out over the edge. I didn't really have much of a view. The airconditioner was old and not that effective.
The price was about 40% higher than that quoted by Lonely Planet, which was published just 4 months ago.
I think they raised their prices substantially because of the positive LP reviews and the fact that there is a high demand now for mid-range accomodations in Yangon.

The worse aspect of the hotel was their front staff. It usually consists of 3 young girls, who when you approach the desk are often eating food, chewing gum, chatting and laughing with each other. Then they all turn to look at you (the guest) with this face that seems to say "what do you want?". I don't think they even try to smile at guests.

The breakfast buffet in the morning had a large variety of food, but nothing in particular that I thought was delicious.
